Bring your own files. Your epub or PDF plus your audiobook (m4b, m4a, mp3, flac and more) go in; a perfectly synced read-along comes out. No ebook? Witbound listens to the narration and writes the book for you, chapter by chapter.

No account. No cloud. No analytics. The privacy label reads "Data Not Collected," because there is nothing to collect — all transcription and sync run on your device using Apple's on-device speech engine. Your books never leave your phone.
WHAT WITBOUND WON'T DO
Copy-protected files (Audible .aax, Kindle-store books, DRM'd epubs) can't be opened — breaking those locks is illegal, and Witbound never will. DRM-free books work beautifully: Libro.fm, Downpour, LibriVox, Standard Ebooks, Project Gutenberg, or your own rips. Try it with the built-in public-domain classic.
Requires iOS 26 or later. Processing an audiobook takes a few minutes per hour of audio and runs best while charging.

- Accented characters and ñ now display correctly in Spanish, French, German and other languages.
- Press and hold any line to save it as a highlight.
- Tapping a word near the edge of the page now jumps to it instead of turning the page.
- Downloads from Audiobookshelf no longer reset if you leave the screen mid-download.
