CroDB 2.1 adds an MCP server and rebuilds SQL autocomplete. MCP SERVER • Connect an AI agent to the databases you already have open in CroDB. Configuration snippets for Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Codex are generated for you, carrying the right port and token • Off until you turn it on. It listens on loopback only and every request needs a bearer token • Access is granted per connection: No Access, Read-only, or Read & Write. Nothing is shared by default • Writes wait for you to approve them, statement by statement; production connections make you type the database name first • An activity list in Settings shows every call an agent made, including the ones CroDB refused and why • Tools for browsing schemas, reading tables, running and explaining queries, and driving transactions — an agent can also open a query or a table in a tab for you to look at • Row, cell, payload and timeout limits you set yourself SQL AUTOCOMPLETE • Suggestions appear as you type, from the first character, instead of only when you press a shortcut • Tables, views, columns and routines come from the database that tab is pointed at, and from nothing else • Column completion follows aliases: after FROM users u, typing u. lists that table's columns in table order, with their types • Suggestions are ranked for where the caret is — FROM after a select list, WHERE and JOIN once a table is named, columns inside a WHERE, types in a column definition • The schema loads on its own; you no longer have to expand the sidebar before completion knows your tables • Control-Space completes on demand, and typing never rewrites your SQL until you accept a suggestion • Names match on any word or on initials, so cn finds customer_name • Keywords, functions and types for MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLite

CroDB 2.0 is a major release. CONNECTIONS • SSH tunnels with password or private-key authentication; secrets are stored in the Keychain • MySQL TLS modes from Disabled to Verify Identity; Required and stricter never fall back to plaintext • Connection folders, color tags, and Connect All / Disconnect All SESSIONS AND TRANSACTIONS • Every query and table tab keeps its own server session, so BEGIN, SET, temporary tables and session variables persist between runs • Begin, Commit and Rollback controls with live transaction state; table edits apply inside your transaction • New Messages panel for MySQL warnings and PostgreSQL notices TABLE DESIGNER • Edit indexes, foreign keys, check constraints and table options, create and rename tables, and change column types with USING casts on PostgreSQL • Every change is previewed as the statements it will run DATA GRID • Cell editor for text, JSON, hex and images, with an explicit SQL NULL switch • Copy As tab-separated text, CSV, JSON, Markdown or INSERT; paste blocks of cells; delete rows • Find in results (⌘F) and remembered column layouts IMPORT AND EXPORT • Whole-table exports stream from the server • CSV import with batch sizes, conflict modes, and a choice between rolling everything back or skipping failed batches • Import / Export Tasks list with progress and cancel WORKSPACE • Multiple windows (⇧⌘N) with window and tab restoration • Warnings before closing a tab, a window or the app with open transactions or running transfers SAFETY • EXPLAIN ANALYZE is treated as a real execution • Detection of writes hidden in WITH clauses and subqueries, SET GLOBAL and SELECT INTO OUTFILE MORE • Portuguese interface; the language setting now applies to every string after a restart • Date and time display format setting, Redo in the grid, and many fixes

Table design comes to CroDB. Field designer • Open a table's Structure tab and choose Edit to rename fields, change data types, toggle Not Null, and edit defaults and comments. • Add or delete fields inline, and set which fields make up the primary key. • Fields are badged New, Modified, or Dropped as you work, and a dropped field can be restored any time before you save. New Table • Create a table from the database's context menu in the sidebar. The design lives only in its tab — nothing reaches the server until you choose Create Table. Delete Table • Delete a table from the sidebar. The confirmation shows the exact DROP statement, and open tabs for that table close on their own. Nothing runs before you have seen it • Saving opens a review sheet listing every pending change alongside the exact statements CroDB will send. • Dropped fields and primary keys are flagged as unrecoverable. • On PostgreSQL the whole redesign runs in one transaction; on MySQL, CroDB tells you each statement commits on its own. • On production connections, saving structure changes or deleting a table requires typing the table name. Safety and polish • Read-only connections cannot be redesigned, and neither can views or materialized views. • Structure tabs open as a read-only preview, so editing is always a deliberate step. • Unsaved structure edits are counted when you close a tab, and a refresh that would discard them is blocked. • The Structure tab's Columns is now Fields, matching the designer.
