Kesit is a screenshot app for the Mac. It is fast, simple and private. Press a shortcut and drag a box over the area you want. You can still move the box, change its size, or move it one pixel at a time with the arrow keys. Then draw on it and copy it. TAKE A SCREENSHOT • The whole screen • An area that you select • One window: point at it and click DRAW ON IT Add arrows, lines, boxes, circles, text and highlights. Add stamps: thumbs up, thumbs down, check mark, cross, warning, question mark, heart, star, happy face and sad face. Choose from seven colours and three sizes. Numbers count up by themselves (1, 2, 3 …), so you can show the steps of a task. You draw directly on the screen. There is no extra window to open. HIDE PRIVATE DETAILS Draw a box over a name, an address or a licence key, and Pixelate covers it with large blocks. Or press Redact. Kesit finds email addresses, phone numbers, card and account numbers, IBANs and people's names. Then it covers them for you. Always check the result before you copy. The blocks are large on purpose, because small blocks and blur can sometimes be reversed. Pixelate makes text very hard to read, but it is not a guarantee. If a detail must stay secret, leave it out of the screenshot. COPY TEXT FROM THE SCREEN Some text cannot be selected: text in a photo, a scanned document, an error message or a video. Select the area and press Copy Text. Kesit reads the text and puts it on the clipboard, ready to paste. On macOS 26 and later, you can also press Copy Table. It keeps the rows and columns, so you can paste the table into Numbers, Excel, Pages or Word. Kesit reads the text on your Mac. Nothing is sent anywhere. TRANSLATE THE SCREEN Select an area and press Translate. A small window shows the text in your language. No screenshot is saved. Translation uses Apple's technology and happens on your Mac. The first time, macOS may ask to download a language. You can translate the languages that Apple supports. Greek and Estonian are not supported yet. SMALLER FILES By default, Kesit saves screenshots at normal size. Full Retina size has four times more pixels and makes documents large very quickly. You can choose full size in Settings. COPY OR SAVE Kesit copies your screenshot to the clipboard, saves it in a folder you choose, or does both. Each file name contains the date, so no file replaces another. PRIVACY Kesit collects no data and sends no data. It has no tracking, no analytics and no crash reports. You do not need an account. Kesit has no server. Your screenshots stay on your Mac until you decide to share them. IN THE MENU BAR Kesit has no Dock icon and no window. You use it from its icon in the menu bar, or with three keyboard shortcuts. You can change the shortcuts. ELEVEN LANGUAGES English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish, Greek, Spanish (Mexico) and Estonian. You can change the app's language in Settings without changing the language of your Mac. FREE TO TRY Use every feature free for 14 days. After that, one payment unlocks Kesit forever. There is no subscription and no account. If you do not buy it, Kesit stops taking screenshots when the trial ends. Requires a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later. Does not work on Intel Macs. "Kesit" is a Turkish word. It means a section or a cut: a piece taken from something larger.

Four more languages. German, Italian, Polish and Japanese join the seven Kesit already spoke — and not just the menu bar. Every alert, every tool name, every permission message is translated. Two more stamps. Thumbs up and thumbs down, in the same seven colours and three sizes as the rest of the set. Pick one, click, done.

Copy text from anything on screen. A photograph, a scanned PDF, an error dialog, a paused video — select the area, press Copy Text, and the words are on your clipboard, even where selecting them is impossible. Translate without leaving your screen. Select an area, press Translate, and a small panel says it in your language. Both new tools work entirely on your Mac — nothing is sent anywhere, because there is still nowhere to send anything. The toolbar grew up too: every action now shows its name and its keyboard shortcut, on a row of its own, and Copy — the one you press most — stands out.

Highlight without hiding. Drag across a line and it lifts off the page — and the words underneath stay every bit as black and as sharp as they were. Most tools wash colour over the top and fade the text with it. Kesit tints the paper instead, so a highlight stays readable, on light pages and dark ones alike. New stamps. A checkmark and a cross, a warning, a question mark, a heart, a star, and a face that is pleased or not. Pick one, click, done. Numbered badges keep their own button, because numbering a sequence is something you do over and over. And the warning triangle is yellow now — the color of the road sign.

Hide sensitive information before a screenshot ever leaves your Mac. Drag a box over an address, a license key or a customer name and it disappears behind a mosaic — in three sizes, so you choose how coarse it looks. Number your steps automatically. Place a numbered badge and the count goes up on its own: 1, 2, 3. Any screenshot becomes step-by-step instructions, without typing a single number. Also new: a warning triangle, a checkmark and a plain line. And choosing a warning or a checkmark no longer overwrites the color you picked for everything else.
