Helal Scan reads the ingredient list for you and gives a clear answer — Halal, Needs Checking or Not Halal — naming the exact ingredient that caused it and why, in plain words.

LANGUAGES
Reads ingredient lists in English, German, French, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. The app itself is in English, German, Arabic and Turkish.
HONEST ABOUT ITS LIMITS
This app is not a fatwa and not a halal certificate. It screens the declared ingredient list. It cannot see manufacturing processes, ingredient origins, processing aids or cross-contamination. When something is uncertain it says so instead of guessing — "Needs Checking" is an answer, and the app uses it.
PRIVACY
No account. No third-party tracking. Photos never leave your device — text recognition runs on the phone, and only text is sent. What we receive is the barcode you scan, what you search for, a random device ID that is not linked to you, and anything you deliberately submit. Your scan history is stored against that ID; Clear Scan History in the app deletes it. While Share anonymous usage is on in Settings, we also see which screens you open; in the EU, the EEA and the UK it stays off until you turn it on.
Ingredient data partly via Open Food Facts (ODbL). Always verify anything that matters with a qualified authority.
