The interface disappears so your story doesn't. Write local-first, back up to your own Google Drive, and keep research notes that link themselves.
Pellucid is a distraction-free writing app for people who write long things — novels, stories, scripts, and essays. It gets out of the way. The entire interface is a "Whisper UI": toolbars, titles, and status readouts rest at a whisper of opacity until you reach for them, so nothing stands between you and the page.
Your work is yours. Every manuscript is saved locally on your device in plain Markdown and works completely offline — no account, no sign-up, no internet required. When you want a backup, Pellucid syncs to your own Google Drive into a visible "Pellucid Vault" folder you fully control, and keeps versioned snapshots so you can restore any earlier draft.
Beside your manuscript sits a research companion: a notes and codex sidebar where you keep characters, places, and world details, link them together, and let Pellucid build an attributions list for you. A global command palette searches your whole project — manuscript, table of contents, and notes — without leaving the keyboard.
Pellucid is built for flow: typewriter scrolling, writing sprints, a Pomodoro timer, session and word-count goals, and a quiet battery guard that only speaks up when you're about to run out. No ads. No tracking. No analytics. Just a calm, deliberate place to write.
