The flashcard app for people who hate making flashcards. Capture words by voice, photo, or text. The flashcard writes itself—with meaning, nuance, examples, and audio. Most vocabulary is lost at the moment you meet it. You see a word on a menu, hear a phrase you almost understood, or read something in a message. Looking it up, checking the reading, formatting a card, and filing it somewhere takes long enough that you don’t. The words you actually lived are the ones you forget. Kikusho is the flashcard app for people who hate making flashcards. It turns the language you notice into a finished, editable card in seconds, then helps you remember it with spaced repetition. CAPTURE IT YOUR WAY • Voice — say a word or phrase aloud, in your language or the one you’re learning. • Photo — point at a sign, menu, book, or anything you want to remember. • Text — type it, paste it, or send it from another app through the iOS share sheet. A Lock Screen widget and the “Add to Kikusho” shortcut let you start capturing from wherever you are. THE CARD WRITES ITSELF Every capture returns as a complete draft: the word, its reading, romaji when learning Japanese, its meaning, useful nuance, register, politeness, example sentences, and native audio. Nothing is saved without your approval. Review every card first and edit any field before it joins your deck. REVIEW WITHOUT THE SETUP Kikusho schedules reviews with FSRS, the modern spaced-repetition algorithm also used by Anki. Again, Hard, Good, Easy — sensible defaults, with no configuration to wade through. Reviews work entirely offline. Your cards, photos, and pronunciation audio live on your iPhone, so a plane, tunnel, or unreliable connection changes nothing. Tap an example sentence to hear it, or select a word inside one to create another card. Search your deck by word, meaning, or #tag. Receive a quiet reminder when cards are due, and share your streak when you want to. YOUR VOCABULARY, NOT A COURSE Learn Japanese, English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese, with explanations in any of 40 languages. Kikusho does not choose a syllabus for you. It helps you keep the language you actually meet. FREE, AND PRO Capture up to five times a day for free, then review everything you have collected without limits — forever. The limit applies only to creating cards, never to studying them. Kikusho Pro ($4.99/month or $44.99/year) lifts the free plan’s five-captures-per-day limit and syncs capture photos between your devices. Card sync, offline audio, and reviews remain free. No account is required. Kikusho works anonymously from the first launch. Sign in with Apple only if you want your deck to follow you to another iPhone. Kikusho is not a course.
