New: a plan with no column layout can now be read for one. The scanner traces the architectural walls, turns their junctions into candidate columns, and leaves out doorways, stairs and other openings. Every position is a preliminary candidate for you to check, move or delete — nothing reaches the design until you accept it. Also new: scan a different plan for each floor. Choose the sheet from a multi-sheet PDF, name your drawings, assign them to storeys, and reuse a typical floor without paying for another scan. Each upper floor is compared against the storey below, which offers column stops and transfers for you to confirm; a column the scanner missed is never taken as a setback on its own. Also new: the wind design now applies the whole BS 6399-2 speed chain. You enter the basic wind speed Vb, and the terrain and building factor Sb from Table 4 for the site; the app forms Vs, Ve and the pressure q. Sb defaults to 1.0, which means no terrain allowance, and the sheets say so. Also new: import a plan as any page of a multi-sheet PDF, or as a 2D ASCII DXF drawing. Reinforcement, column and foundation detail sheets carry more detail.

New: buy credits in the app. Credits can now be bought on the Credits screen through the App Store, in your own currency. They are held on your Structura account rather than on the device, so they follow you to any device you sign in on, and an annual plan bought early adds twelve months to whatever is left rather than replacing it. Also new: cantilever slabs. A floor that projects past the frame — the overhang on a duplex, or a balcony — is designed as a member of its own, with its main steel in the top face, the beam it springs from loaded for the whole projection, and the columns and pads under it grown to carry it. A column may stand on the free end of one. Openings and staircases can be declared on the plan. A stairwell is a hole in the floor, so the slab is no longer designed straight across it and the panels beside it are designed with that edge discontinuous. Clearer reinforcement detailing throughout the drawing sheets.

New: scan a plan. From inside a project, or straight from a design form, the scanner reads the scale and the columns off your drawing and hands you a grid to check on the plan itself. You edit it with the same tools you use on a grid you placed yourself, and nothing is designed until you approve it — the engine still designs from what you confirm, never from what the scanner thought. Drawings follow a Nigerian working drawing more closely. Sheets are colour-coded, annotation is sized to read at arm's length on site, and bars are detailed the way a checker expects them. Bar bending schedules now carry a SHAPE column, and beam main bars are bobbed and scheduled to the anchorage BS 8110 credits — so a bent bar is never listed as a length with nothing beside it saying it is bent. Also in this release: - Designs are checked against the conditions BS 8110 puts on its own coefficients. A beam line whose spans differ by more than 15 per cent, or a span shorter than twice its depth, reports FAIL with the reason rather than a confident answer. - The plan editor puts a column on its nearest setting-out line rather than a bay the engine cannot design, and says why. - The storey count you set on a design form now travels with you onto the plan, so a setback is drawn on the level you meant.

New: buildings that step in - a column can stop below the top storey, and each one is designed for the floors it actually carries. The drawings get a column plan per storey. Also new: - Press and hold to drag a column onto its line, with snapping that follows the zoom. - Type bay dimensions straight off the drawing; repeat a bay, or mirror the grid. - The layout checks itself as you edit, and names any column the engine would refuse. - Redo, alongside undo.
