A whole new look, plus a few things you asked for. • Pick any verse in the Bible to memorize. Tap "Want to change the verse?" and then "Choose my own." • After you check a verse, every hidden word fills in, gold if you had it right and red if you missed it. • Community shows everyone's streak and verses next to their name. • Everything fits better on smaller iPhones.

Every verse you get right now hides another word, even if you looked at the missed words first. The opening screen plays smoothly now.

Say your verse out loud. Tap "Say it out loud" and speak the verse instead of typing it. It all happens on your phone. The Check button now sits right on top of your keyboard, so it's never hidden while you type. Miss a hidden word and its blank turns red instead of giving the word away. Fix it and you still earn the next blank.

Clearer wording on the home screen for people practicing free, and the premium card now says exactly what Premium does: lock your social media until you type a Bible verse.

Fixed: on the latest iOS versions, typing a verse could stop after a single letter and the keyboard could disappear. Typing works normally again everywhere in the app.

New: try it before you decide. Early in setup, pick your most-used social app and type your first verse to unlock it — the same way the app works every day. Fixed: the daily reminder could get stuck showing the same day number, and could say "Day 1" after a missed day. It now only shows a day count when a streak is actually running. Fixed: the subscription screen could show a crossed-out "before" price that wasn't the price you were shown. Fixed: on a slow connection the subscription screen could show the wrong prices.

Fixed: your locked apps could quietly stop being locked and stay that way until you next opened Type the Verse. Since your apps were working, there was no reason to open it, so the lock could stay off for days. Type the Verse now checks every hour and puts the lock back on its own. Fixed: tapping the unlock notification could take a few seconds to bring up your verse, or miss entirely, when the connection was slow. It opens straight away now. Fixed: daily reminders stopped arriving if you hadn't opened the app for a week, which is exactly when a reminder is worth having. Fixed: an unlock that ran past midnight could end early and lock your apps before the time was up. Fixed: the renewal price on the subscription screen could be cut off on some screen sizes.

Fixed: on smaller iPhones the Check button could sit underneath the keyboard with no way to reach it. The typing screen now scrolls, the keyboard can be swiped away, and the button is always reachable. Fixed: "Unlocked" was rendering white on a cream background, so the word you earned was invisible. Fixed: typing "self control" for "self-control" was marked wrong. Fixed: your streak kept showing the old number for days after you last typed. Fixed: daily reminders could arrive twice at the same minute, and typing your verse didn't reliably silence the rest of that day. Both behave now. Fixed: if you cancelled during the free trial, the reminder still told you a plan was about to start. You can now change the verse you're working on from the home screen, while practicing, or on the unlock screen itself. Pick any of the 30 and it stays until you finish it. Your email now lives under Account in Settings, with one button to delete it. Also: the paywall tells you honestly whether your Apple Account still has a free trial available, and Settings shows your real subscription status.

Fixed: the unlock window could close early, asking for a verse again minutes after you typed one. A typed verse now reliably buys the full window you chose in Settings. Also in this update: onboarding now lets you choose how long a verse keeps your apps open, the Screen Time screen explains what stays private (everything), your page lets you pick or skip any verse, Settings shows your plan and billing date with a manage link, and the free trial is spelled out more clearly before you subscribe.

Your free trial now reminds you before it ends. A notification arrives the day before, so nothing charges you by surprise, and if you are on the monthly plan it shows what switching to annual saves you. Also in this release: Redeem a Code in Settings, so an offer code or gift unlocks Premium without paying. And the emergency unlock no longer loses the window it just granted, so your apps stay open for the full time.
