WHAT THIS APP DOES Advisory Planner is a calendar that shows the preparation leading up to a date. You enter an event—a hearing, a board meeting, an examination, a move—and the app breaks the event into the preparation steps it consists of and places each on days before it. The month shows both: the dates and the days of work that lead to them. Advisory Planner is written by a practising adviser ; the reasoning behind its scheduling is published on her website. HOW IT WORKS 1. Enter an event: a title, a date, a time. 2. Have the preparation drafted for you, or write it yourself. Either way it appears as steps, each with the number of days it sits before the event. 3. Adjust it. Every step moves a day at a time in either direction. Delete what does not apply, type in what is missing. 4. Press Create. Each step takes its place in the month, on its own day, in front of the date it belongs to. 5. Open any day to see what falls on it: the events, and every preparation step that belongs there, each naming the event it serves. 6. Tick a step off when it is done. WHAT THE APP CHECKS The app watches the float. When a step's buffer has run out — it falls due today or tomorrow — or when an event arrives with steps still open, the day is marked with a small red triangle, and opening the day says why. Nothing else is flagged: a warning that shows up every day is one nobody reads. WHAT IT REMEMBERS Steps you type in yourself are remembered against that kind of event and offered again next time. Stored on this Mac only. APPLE CALENDAR, FILES AND EXPORT Apple Calendar synchronisation can be switched on; your events appear with their preparation in front of them. Nothing is written back to your calendar. IMPORT AND EXPORT YOUR ANALYTICS Events can be imported from an .ics file. Finished work can be written out as a spreadsheet: what was done and when — for an invoice, a case file, or the tax year. It is written on your Mac and leaves it only when you save or send it. APPEARANCE A colour for every month, or white, black, transparent, or one colour you choose and keep. The background can be dimmed until the text on it reads easily. PRIVACY Nothing is sent to a server. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no tracking. All data stays on the device and leaves it only through an export you perform. PRICE Bought once. LIMITS WORTH KNOWING Importing an .ics file brings a recurring series in as its first occurrence only, and a multi-day entry on its starting day. For whole series and spans, use Apple Calendar synchronisation. Deleting an entire series inside the app is permanent for that series: it is remembered by title, so the next synchronisation does not bring it back. The confirmation says so beforehand. Renaming the series in Apple Calendar makes it available again.

EASIER TO READ WITHOUT LOOKING TWICE Event titles and times in the month grid are set a little stronger and a little darker, and "+ Event" is larger and no longer hides in grey. Nothing moved and nothing shrank — the same layout, simply legible. SETTINGS HAS ROOM TO BREATHE The Settings window now opens large enough to show a whole section at once DELETING A SERIES SAYS WHAT IT DOES When you delete an entire series, the app now tells you plainly what follows: the series stays deleted here even though it still lives in your Apple Calendar, and renaming it there is what makes it available again. The built-in menu guide has been extended as well and now explains the Window menu alongside the rest. THE MONTH TURNS AS FAST AS YOU DO Paging from one month to the next used to hesitate once a month was full, because the app searched its whole list of events for every single day on screen. It now looks the day up instead, so the month turns immediately whether it holds four events or four hundred.
