Find local volunteer opportunities, track your service hours, and download verified hour letters for school and college applications.
Queen City Volunteer Connect (QCVC) helps high‑school students find local volunteer opportunities, track their service hours, and generate verified hour letters for school and college applications.
For students:
• Browse and sign up for approved volunteer opportunities near you
• Get reminders before each shift
• Log your hours and have them verified by the organization
• Download official, independently verifiable hour letters
For organizations:
• Post opportunities to a vetted community of student volunteers
• Manage sign‑ups and waitlists
• Verify student hours with a tap
Every approved hour carries a verification code that anyone can confirm — so service records are trustworthy for schools and colleges.

PRIVATE GROUPS
Organizations can now share an opportunity with one specific group of students
instead of with everyone. Create a group, hand out its join code, and post
shifts that only those members can see.
Students join by entering the code under Profile > My groups. Groups can't be
searched for or browsed - the code is the only way in. Members can't see or
contact each other; a group simply filters which opportunities you see.
Every opportunity is still visible to all students by default. Targeting a
group is always a deliberate choice.
NEW PROFILE SCREEN
Tap the person icon at the top right of the Home screen to open your profile.
You can now:
- Update your school and graduation year. Previously these could only be set
when you first signed up.
- See your current grade, which now works itself out from your graduation year
and stays right each school year without you updating it.
- Join a group with a code, or leave one you're in.
- Sign out or delete your account. Both have moved here from the bottom of the
Home screen.
FOR ORGANIZATIONS
- Choose who can see each opportunity as you post it: everyone, or one of your
groups.
- See at a glance which audience each of your opportunities went to.
- Post same-day shifts. Previously the earliest you could choose was tomorrow.
- Manage your groups from the new My Groups tab: copy or regenerate the join
code, see who has joined, and remove members.
FIXES
- "Your Upcoming Events" on the Home screen no longer lists shifts that have
already happened, and now shows the soonest ones first.
- The grade printed on your verification letter stays accurate. It previously
showed whatever grade you were in when you signed up, which meant a senior's
letter could still say Grade 9.
- Notifications now reach only the students they are meant for.
- Signing out properly releases the device, so a shared iPad or phone no longer
keeps receiving notifications for an account that signed out.
- Opportunity cards are easier to read, with clearer spacing between them.
