Document what you own — serial numbers, photos, and receipts for insurance claims — plus who you want each item to go to, all encrypted and private. Every valuable has two halves: its serial, and its story. Serial & Story is a private, on-device home inventory app built for two real moments — filing an insurance claim after a loss, and telling the people you want to have your things what they actually are. Document what you own Track serial numbers, make and model, purchase price, current value, and photos for everything that matters: furniture and electronics, tractors and equipment, vehicles, collectibles and jewelry, and firearms. Scan a receipt or a VIN with your camera instead of typing it in. Link accessories and related items together, so a scope stays connected to its rifle and an implement stays connected to its tractor. Ready when you need it Generate an Insurance & Police report — a clean, organized PDF built for filing a claim or a loss report — for one item, or with Serial & Story+, for multiple items at once. Export to CSV if you just need the data. Everything is dated and organized by category, so you're not digging through drawers for old receipts when an adjuster or officer asks for documentation. Add the story, not just the serial Beyond the paperwork, Serial & Story has a place for what a serial number can't capture: where an item came from, why it matters, and who you'd want to have it. Note an intended recipient for any item — an informal note for your own family and your own attorney, not a will and not a legal instrument on its own. When you're ready, use Export for Attorney, part of Serial & Story+, to bring your stated intentions to the professional who can make them legally effective in your state. Private by design Your inventory is encrypted on your device before it ever leaves it. A small amount of metadata is not encrypted, on your device or in iCloud, so the app can sort and filter your items: record IDs, timestamps, each item's bundle and type labels, such as Firearms or Ammunition, and the date of each Attorney Handoff export. There are no ads, no third-party trackers, and no account or sign-in required — Serial & Story keeps your inventory on your device, and Serial & Story+ syncs it through your own private iCloud account. Face ID or passcode keeps your inventory closed to anyone else who picks up your phone. Household is free, forever Document everything in your home — furniture, electronics, appliances, instruments — at no cost, with no item limit and no time limit. Serial & Story+ covers adding items to the Equipment, Vehicles, Collectibles & Jewelry, and Firearms bundles; private sync and backup across your own devices via iCloud; Digital Legacy tools (a recovery key and digital-asset instructions for whoever settles your estate); and the ability to select items across bundles for one combined report. Serial & Story+ also unlocks Export for Attorney. The Firearms bundle is a documentation record for insurance, police reports, and estate purposes, not a range log. Serial & Story doesn't offer legal or insurance advice, and using it doesn't replace your own attorney, insurance agent, or estate plan. It's a record-keeping tool built to make those conversations easier when the day comes that you need them. Terms of Use: https://anchorwright.com/serial-and-story/terms/

Values now show in your region's currency, and Settings lets you pick another. Amounts are not converted. In the item list, an item's badge now reads PHOTO · SERIAL · RECEIPT once all three are on file, and the home screen counts the items with all three. Insurance and police reports now note how many of an item's photos stay in the app and out of the report. If an export fails to save, the app now tells you. Tapping Cancel with unsaved changes now asks before discarding them. The printed recovery sheet is rewritten. The new sheet lists what a new device needs before you start, and what to do if a step goes wrong. For Serial & Story+ subscribers: Restore from Recovery Key now checks a key the account's record does not confirm against the items on your device. Settings shows "Waiting to upload" while a change is on its way to iCloud, and the app warns you if iCloud was turned off or the Apple Account changed before a change uploaded.
