Prayer Stop — Salah Pause
Holds back apps at prayer
Only for iPhone

iPhone
Prayer Stop holds back the apps that pull at you, at every prayer, for as long as you choose.
Reach for Instagram at Dhuhr and you do not get Instagram. You get الظهر in gold on a still green screen, the minutes left, and one button: I've prayed. It is not a notification you swipe away. It is the phone standing aside.
That is what this app is for. Everything else in it serves that.
HOLDING BACK APPS
• Choose the apps that pull at you. Prayer Stop never learns which ones — iOS keeps that private and the app only ever sees a number.
• Choose 3, 5 or 10 minutes. When the pause ends, everything returns on its own.
• Finished early? One tap and your apps come back.
• Nothing is locked away from you. This is a commitment you made to yourself, and you can switch it off in Settings in ten seconds.
• Phone, Messages and emergency calls are never touched.
NO ADS. NO TRACKING. NO PAYWALL.
• There is no advertising SDK in this app. No banners, no interstitials, nothing that interrupts you — least of all while you pray.
• Nothing follows you between apps. There is no analytics of any kind, no advertising identifier, and no account to create.
• No premium tier, no subscription, no locked features. All of it is free.
• Prayer Stop is kept running by a short list of handpicked partners and sadaqah jariyah causes, on a Recommendations page you visit only if you want to.
PRAYER TIMES
• The five prayers for your city, with the next one counting down to the second.
• Muslim World League, ISNA and Egyptian calculation methods.
• Computed on your phone. No account, no sign-in, no server.
• A quiet alert as each prayer arrives, if you want one.
QIBLA
• A live compass to the Kaaba, with the exact bearing and distance from wherever you are standing.
QUR'AN
• All 114 surahs, searchable by name or number.
• Reads offline once a surah is on your phone.
MADE TO LIVE ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
• Widgets showing the next prayer.
• Three backgrounds — green courtyard, blue night, brown clay — four accent colours and a day mode. The pause screen and the app icon follow whatever you pick.
• A dua or hadith after each pause, if you'd like one.
PRIVACY
Your location is used on your device to work out prayer times and the qibla, and it is not sent anywhere. The apps you choose to hold back are handled by iOS Screen Time and stay opaque to Prayer Stop. The only request the app ever makes is for Qur'an text when you open a surah.
Holding back apps needs iOS 16 or later. Prayer times, qibla and the Qur'an reader work on any supported iPhone.
Ratings & Reviews
• Prayer Stop now speaks your language: German, Arabic, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Indonesian, Urdu and Malay, alongside English. It follows your phone automatically, or choose in Settings. Qur'an meanings appear in your language too.
• New, optional adhan sound: prayer alerts can play the opening of the adhan instead of your phone's usual sound. It's off unless you turn it on (Settings › Adhan sound), with a Listen button to hear it first.
• Credits for the Qur'an translations are now shown in the reader.
• You can rate Prayer Stop from the bottom of Settings.
