The classic wooden dice game, rebuilt for one hand and one thumb. No ads, no tracking, no internet required. Just you and the tiles. Shut the Box is a dice game that's been played in pubs and on fishing boats for generations. Roll the dice, fold down tiles that add up to your roll, and try to close the whole box. This version was built for the way people actually use a phone: one hand, one thumb, standing up. After every roll the tiles slide down into reach, so you never have to shift your grip or risk juggling your phone on a moving train. THE GAME Roll, then shut any combination of tiles matching your total. Keep going until you can't make the number. Your score is the sum of the tiles left standing lower is better, and shutting every tile is a perfect zero. ¢ 9-tile and 12-tile variants ¢ Choose one die or two once the high tiles are down, exactly as the traditional rules allow ¢ Tap the dice or shake the phone to roll ¢ Separate best scores, averages and win rates for each variant BUILT FROM A REAL BOARD The wood grain, the felt and the dice sound are not stock assets. The tiles were photographed from a real wooden Shut the Box set, the felt from its lining, and the dice roll is a recording of those dice landing on that board. The dice themselves are properly three-dimensional — they tumble and settle the way dice do. QUIET BY DESIGN No ads. No in-app purchases. No accounts, no sign-in, no tracking, no analytics. The app never connects to the internet, so it works on a plane, underground, or anywhere with no signal. Your scores stay on your device.
