A small fix: ingredient names keep their "and" and "or". "Salt and pepper" now goes on your shopping list as salt and pepper, not "salt pepper", and "butter or olive oil" keeps its "or".

New: a guide to Pantryful. Five quick stops show you where everything is: your pantry, what you can cook tonight, your shopping list, saving a recipe, and cooking one. It takes you to each place and points it out. You only tap Next, and nothing in your kitchen is added or changed. New installs are offered it after the welcome. If you already use Pantryful, you'll be offered it once, and it's always in Settings under Help as "Show me around". The guide ends by showing where Start over is, in case you'd like a clean slate.

Pantryful now starts clean. A new install opens with one example recipe and an empty pantry, ready for your own. If you already use Pantryful, nothing of yours changes. New in Settings: Start over. Erase all your recipes, empty the pantry, or both, in one step. Each asks first, and your shopping list and cooking log are kept. The other starter recipes are still there if you want them, under Help in Settings.

You can now rate Pantryful from Settings. It's under Help, next to Support. If Pantryful has saved you a trip to the shop or rescued a recipe from a screenshot, a rating is the single most useful thing you can do for a small app.

A new icon. The P is a spoon; the loop is the bowl. And the rest of the produce aisle now looks like itself: poblanos, courgettes, bok choy, clementines and about forty more get their own emoji instead of a plain place setting. Grapefruit no longer shows up as grapes, and sweet potatoes aren't plain potatoes any more.

Some foods — ginger, olives, cauliflower, shakshuka and a couple of dozen more — were showing a plain knife-and-fork icon instead of their own. They now look like what they are, in your pantry, your recipe box and your week.

The biggest Pantryful update yet. • Household sync: share one pantry, recipe box, shopping list and meal plan with the people you cook with, over iCloud. • Scan a receipt: photograph a grocery receipt and every food line goes straight into your pantry. • Use it up: give pantry items a best-before date and Cook Tonight ranks the recipes that use them first. • This Week: plan dinners on a seven-day board and add everything the week needs to your shopping list in one tap. • Siri and widgets: ask "What can I cook tonight in Pantryful", add to your list by voice, and keep Cook Tonight on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. • Timer in the Dynamic Island: cook-mode timers keep counting on the Lock Screen. • Rate and jot notes after you cook, scan multi-page recipes, and import recipes from pasted or shared text.

SCAN ANY RECIPE Point the camera at a cookbook page, a magazine clipping, or Grandma's handwritten card. Pantryful reads it and writes it into your recipe box as proper ingredients, steps, and timers — entirely on your iPhone, nothing uploaded. Requires Apple Intelligence. RECIPES THAT TAG THEMSELVES Every recipe is quietly tagged by cuisine, course, protein, and style, so you can filter the box with a tap or search for "quick" or "vegetarian". Also on-device. SHOP FOR A RECIPE On any recipe page, add the ingredients you're missing to the shopping list, or send everything to the list or the pantry. A LIST THAT KNOWS WHAT'S FOR WHAT The shopping list groups itself by recipe, so you know which five things are for the curry and which two are for pancakes. Shared lists keep the grouping. Pantryful now cooks with you — and it runs on iPad. COOK STEP BY STEP Tap the new button on any recipe and the directions become one big, readable step at a time. The screen stays awake while you cook, and any step that names a time — "simmer 12 minutes" — offers a one-tap timer that rings even if you leave the app. PANTRYFUL ON iPAD The whole app, sized for the kitchen counter: every screen adapts, portrait or landscape.

Sixteen recipes now come with the app, so there's something to cook the moment you open it — and enough in the box for Cook Tonight to be useful before you've added anything yourself. Fixed: lists wouldn't scroll if your finger started on a recipe card. Deleting is now press and hold. A menu appears with the delete option, which is harder to set off by accident than a swipe was.
