Yomoyo

Japanese Reading Game

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Yomoyo turns Japanese reading into a game. Explore a pixel-art world filled with more than 2,900 Japanese stories across fantasy, mystery, romance, horror, science fiction, slice of life, folktales, and more. Read at your own pace and tap any word to instantly explore its meaning, kanji, and grammar. As you read, you’ll encounter Kotobakami — spirits of the words you discover. Fight and capture them by tracing Japanese characters, then build your Zukan as your collection grows. READ JAPANESE Explore thousands of stories written by real Japanese authors across a wide range of genres and difficulty levels. LOOK UP ANYTHING Tap words while reading to instantly see dictionary definitions, kanji information, grammar, and examples without leaving the story. CAPTURE KOTOBAKAMI Words can awaken as Kotobakami. Trace their characters, battle them, and capture them for your collection. BUILD YOUR ZUKAN Every Kotobakami you capture is added to your Zukan. Discover new word spirits and revisit the ones you've already found. STUDY AS YOU READ Save vocabulary directly from stories, organize words into your own lists, and review them later with flashcards. GO DEEPER Explore detailed entries for words, kanji, grammar, meanings, readings, and example sentences. Japanese study doesn't have to feel separate from actually using the language. Enter Yomoyo, explore the world, read Japanese, and capture the words you learn. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
