Your home screen widget doesn't hold a picture of a face. The square is the face. A colored square with big eyes and a small mouth. Leave it alone and it looks around, yawns, gets startled. Every time you unlock your phone it is wearing a slightly different expression. ■ The square is the face There is no artwork placed inside a frame. The widget's square itself is the head. That is why the smallest size suits it best. ■ 36 movements Surprise, a yawn, a wink, humming, a bright idea, hiccups. It stretches in the morning and gets sleepy at night, and it notices the seasons a little. All 36 are in the app from the start. Nothing to unlock, nothing extra to buy. ■ Poke it, and it answers Tap the widget on your home screen and it reacts. A poke draws from 27 of the movements, and it picks one you have not seen before, so every poke fills in one more page of a little book. Poking also raises your bond, slowly, and that unlocks parts coins cannot buy. There is no way to hurry it. What the level shows is how many days you have spent together. ■ 7 personalities Sunny, Mellow, Cool, Cuddly, Rascal, Joker, Sleepyhead. A personality changes how expressions arrive, how the eyes wander, and which movements come up often. The same parts become a different creature. (All but the first two are unlocked with coins.) ■ 130+ parts to dress up Eyes, iris, mouth, cheeks, background, brows, glasses, headwear. Sliders fine-tune how big the eyes are and how far apart they sit, so there are far more faces than there are parts. (Nine parts are there from the start; the rest are unlocked with coins, a Box, or your bond. Brows, glasses and headwear have no free part at all.) You can save up to 12 faces. Pick a different one and the widget on your home screen becomes that one right away. ■ Draw your own face Pen, brush, fill and eraser, used directly on the eyes, mouth and skin. A drawn face blinks and moves like one built from catalog parts. Redrawing is always free. A Face Ticket is spent only when you keep a drawn face in your collection. ■ What this app will not do - No ads. - No gacha, no random purchases. Every Box lists everything inside it. - No account, no sign-in. - It never asks for your camera, photos, location, or notifications. - No name, account, or precise location attached to what it sends. The app does send usage and device data that is not linked to you: which features get used and whether purchases go through or are restored, plus device information such as the model, OS, language, time zone, and accessibility settings. Sending is on by default, and you can switch it off in the app's own Settings tab, under Privacy, Send usage data. Your drawings are never sent. - Nothing to feed. It won't sulk when you're gone. ■ About in-app purchases Coins, which you trade for parts; dress-up Boxes, which are sets of parts that turn your face into a different creature; and Face Tickets, which keep a drawn face in your collection. Every Box shows the name of every part inside it before you buy. Coins never expire. Boxes you have bought come back on a new phone from Settings, Restore Purchases. ■ Good to know - iOS 17.0 or later - Available in English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Filipino, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Canadian French and Turkish - How often a widget refreshes is decided by iOS. In Low Power Mode the movements can come further apart. - Widget sizes: small and large.

New on the drawing screen: Brush, for lines that taper at the ends, and Fill, which fills whatever you draw around. ■ Four drawing tools The drawing screen now has four tools: "Pen", "Brush", "Fill" and "Eraser". "Eraser" removes the lines you drag over. Pick from 7 line widths with the "Thickness" slider. You can now draw in 16 colors instead of 8, including white. ■ Change the paper color as you draw The paper on the drawing screen is now the face's background color. Tap "Paper colour" to change it while you draw. When the background is set to "My Colour", you can choose a solid color or a gradient that fades from top to bottom. ■ Fix the eyes and mouth with "Adjust" Use the sliders to change the "Size", "Side to side" and "Up and down" of the eyes and mouth you drew. Turn on "Both eyes together" to move both eyes at once. Your lines move with them, and blinking follows them to the new spot. From "Ready-made", you can drop in ready-made eyes and mouths, 6 of each. They are made of lines just like your drawing, so you can draw on them or rub them out with the Eraser. ■ 8 new parts in the Shop Trade coins for Marble, Tiny Nose, Teardrop, Stitch, Treasure, Beanie, and the Sleek and Straight brows. ■ A new Face tab The face is bigger, with "move", "Share", "Draw", "Save" and "My Faces" buttons below it. Your character's name appears at the very top. If poking the widget on your Home Screen found a new move, the face performs that move when you open the app, and "While you were away:" appears with the move's name. ■ A "Called by the clock" section in the Move Book Moves you have found are now grouped at the top of the Move Book. The 8 moves that appear in the morning, at night and with the seasons are now recorded in the new "Called by the clock" section. You can also open the "Move Book" from the Bond screen. ■ Fixed ・Tapping a part while wearing a drawn face erased your drawing without asking. You are now asked "Replace what you drew?" before the face changes ・Switching to a face made of parts or from a Box left the marks you had drawn behind on the face ・After poking the widget on your Home Screen and coming back to the app, your Bond and the moves you found were out of date ・The paper and the eye and mouth frames could shift up or down while drawing or when switching tools ・When My Faces is full, the Face Ticket section now tells you so ・If you had bought coins or Face Tickets, "Restore Purchases" said "No past purchases were found for this Apple Account." It now explains that they are consumable and can't be restored ・The guide to adding the widget now closes by itself once the widget is added ・"Pokes" in Bond showed a lower number than the real count, so it is now labeled "Pokes counted" ・The contents list for the Cat Box and Frog Box was cut off, and Bond showed one level dot too many ・The description of "Send usage data" in Settings was rewritten. The full list of what is sent is in the Privacy Policy. Your drawings are never sent
