Fixes: • A filament slot the printer hasn't identified yet now shows a "?" instead of looking like white filament — matching what the printer's own screen shows. • A clearer "access code rejected" message when a printer refuses its code, even if its camera is still showing a picture. • The printer and camera list is now sorted, and the Add Printer screen no longer flags unrelated network traffic as a missing printer.

Printer discovery now repairs itself. If the network connection the app uses to find printers gets into a bad state, it now rebuilds that connection on its own — where before it would quietly stop finding printers until you relaunched the app. This is the other half of the fix in 1.7.4, which stopped that same problem from keeping your device busy in the background.

Adding a printer by hand now asks the printer for its details directly, instead of waiting for it to announce them — which fixes models that wouldn't connect when added manually. Fixed a bug where looking for printers could keep your device busy in the background for hours.

The status now says what the printer is actually doing. A printer pauses for a lot of reasons — changing filament, levelling the bed, cleaning the nozzle, calibrating — and AmbientCast used to say "Printing" through all of it. That is technically true and unhelpful, because it is exactly the moment you look up. It now names the stage, on the badge, over the video, in the landscape rail on iPhone, and in the overlay burned into Picture in Picture and your broadcast. Timelapses no longer carry that overlay. The status belongs on screen while you are watching, not baked into a recording you keep.

Two filament display fixes, both reported by a tester. A spool loaded in the second AMS slot was drawn — and labelled — as the first. The app dropped empty trays before numbering what was left, so a single spool in slot 2 became "1", and a partly loaded unit showed its filaments shifted left. Slots now keep their real positions, and empty ones are shown as empty. Transparent and clear filament appeared as solid black. The printer reports colour with an alpha byte and the app was reading only the red, green and blue, so fully transparent came through as black. Clear spools now render as a checkerboard, the same way Bambu Handy shows them.

Tells you why the camera won't connect. If video sat on "Connecting…" forever while print status worked perfectly, that was almost always one setting on the printer — "LAN Only Liveview" — and the app never said so. It now recognises that failure and names the setting on the screen where you hit it, rather than only during first-time setup. It also says the part that stops people acting on it: turning that one on is safe, and Bambu Handy keeps working away from home. It is the switch above it, "LAN Only Mode", that disconnects Handy, and AmbientCast has never needed that one. All of this came from an outside tester who hit it and worked it out himself. Fixes the dashboard at large text sizes. The "can't reach the camera" message was clipped mid-word in portrait, and the Apple TV tip broke its own name across three lines and pushed your print status off the bottom of the screen. The message panel now grows to fit what it has to say, and the tip stands aside at accessibility text sizes instead of taking the screen from the thing you opened the app for. Stops spending eight seconds on a refusal. When a printer actively refuses the camera connection, the app knew immediately and still sat through the whole timeout before trying again. It now reports it at once, and the reason reaches the diagnostics you can share instead of only the console. Checks that the status request arrived. The app asks a printer for a full report the moment it connects, and never confirmed the request was delivered. It does now, so a dropped one is visible instead of looking like a printer that has gone quiet. Protects stored access codes. A cleanup added in an earlier release could remove the access code of a printer you still own: on a device where the app had been deleted and reinstalled, it had no way to tell "you deleted this printer" from "this device has not been set up yet", and assumed the first. It now acts only on a deletion it can actually see you made.

Large text sizes: two layout fixes. If you use Larger Text, rows in the printer list and in Manage Printers could collide with their own labels - a printer's name drawn across "Selected", or "Active" hyphenated inside its badge and overlapping the name. Both now stack rather than overlap, at any text size. Under the hood, the library AmbientCast uses to talk to your printer has been updated.

Fixes a crash on Mac. AmbientCast runs on Apple Silicon Macs as an iPad app, and there, opening Settings — or Manage Printers and Cameras, or Add Printer — quit the app instantly. It had been doing that since 1.4.3. Every one of those screens opens properly now. Makes iCloud sync read everything. When fetching what your other devices have published, the app took only the first batch the server sent and treated it as the whole list. Nothing is visible today with a handful of printers and cameras, but it would quietly have started missing things as that list grew.

Type a printer's access code once, instead of on every device. Turn on Sync Credentials in Settings and your printer access codes -- and your cameras' usernames and passwords -- become available on your other Apple devices. Set a printer up here, where there's a keyboard, and your Apple TV picks up the code without you spelling it out on the remote. It is off until you switch it on. Each credential is encrypted on your device before it is sent and kept in your own private iCloud storage, so neither Apple nor the developer can read it. Switch the setting off and the copies are removed; delete a printer or camera and its credentials go with it. Your Apple TV can also send its diagnostics here now. The TV has no share sheet of its own, so a log that used to be readable only on screen can be shared from your phone. Access codes and passwords are removed before it leaves the device.

AmbientCast Pro is gone, and everything it used to gate is now free for everyone. Put your own name on the watermark -- a channel, a shop, a handle -- or turn it off altogether, and publish a timelapse when a print finishes. There is nothing left to buy. If you did buy Pro, nothing you had goes away; it simply isn't needed any more. There is a tip jar in Settings if the app has been useful to you. It unlocks nothing, deliberately. The status now says what the printer is actually doing instead of just "Printing" -- auto bed levelling, heating the nozzle, cleaning the tip, calibrating, running the prime line. The detail was always in what the printer reports; it just wasn't being shown. Settings can now export the app's recent log, with access codes and passwords removed, so you can send it on if something goes wrong. And if you have an Apple TV, the app will mention it once: AmbientCast runs there from this same purchase, which plenty of people never realised.

Add Printer now tells you when something on your network announced itself and we couldn't read it, instead of silently leaving it off the list. If a printer of yours is missing, that line is the most useful thing you can send us. The Display setting that fades the controls is now called "Hide Controls After 5 Seconds", which says what it does — the old name was read backwards often enough to be a bug of its own. Also includes several Apple TV fixes from this release: a first-run dead end when Bold Text is on, Back quitting the app from the zoom controls, and the controls getting stuck off screen after a relaunch.

Printers that never showed up are found now. Some Bambu models announce themselves on the network in a slightly different way, and AmbientCast was ignoring those announcements. If your printer never appeared under "Found on your network", it should now. You can also add a printer by hand using its serial number. Some printers only answer when they are asked for by name, and without the serial the app could report that it couldn't reach a printer that was working perfectly. Also fixed: a printer sending camera video in an unexpected format could use up memory until the app was shut down. Unreadable video is now discarded instead.

Fixes credentials for a printer or camera being left behind on your other devices when you delete it on one of them. Corrects a diagnostic message that reported the wrong timeout.

Fixes a problem where a printer could be renamed to "Bambu Lab Printer" across all your devices, and where a printer's name or model wouldn't update on screen until you switched sources. Reclaims disk space left behind by earlier versions. Some installs were holding several gigabytes of temporary files that were never cleaned up. Fixes camera passwords being lost when settings synced between your devices. Printers can now be renamed. The Connection Mode setting has been removed, since there is now only one way to reach a printer on your network.

• Picture in Picture is dramatically faster and closer to live — the button's ready the moment you open the app, and the video plays with far less delay. • Zoom in on the video on Apple TV for a close-up of your print. • Your Apple TV now stays awake while broadcasting to YouTube, so long streams don't drop. • If your printer's IP changes, AmbientCast finds it again automatically. • Adding a printer by hand now needs only its address and access code. • A cleaner broadcast overlay and a fresh printer icon.

Printer setup now points at the right switch. You need "LAN Only Liveview" turned on — not LAN Only Mode, which disconnects Bambu Handy and was never required. A tidier printer view: the print-status badge is sized like a status badge rather than a headline, and the "Home Network" line is gone. Every connection is a home-network one now, so it had nothing left to tell you.

No Bambu Lab account. AmbientCast now finds your printer on your own network and talks to it directly — enter the access code from the printer's screen once and you're done. No email, no password, and nothing goes through Bambu's servers. Bambu Handy keeps working exactly as it does now. You do not need to turn on the printer's LAN Only Mode. Status is better for it. The printer's own broker sends a complete report every couple of seconds where the cloud sent partial updates, so filament, temperatures and AMS details are more reliable than before. Also in this release: - Setup is illustrated, and shows you exactly which row on the printer holds the access code - Access codes typed by voice now work — capitals and spaces are handled - Fixes for printers losing their address when syncing between devices

Settings and the setup screens open properly again on Apple TV. On the newest tvOS they could appear as a thin sliver over the screen, which left Settings, the printer switcher, and setting up a printer without a Bambu Lab account effectively unusable. Everything opens full screen again. The filament swatches on the video overlay now get a row of their own, matching the dashboard. They had been sharing a line with the print status, so spools were quietly left out whenever there wasn't room for all of them.

Picture in Picture and other video apps now get along. AmbientCast used to interrupt whatever else was playing, which could leave a video in another app stalled until AmbientCast was closed. It doesn't any more, and the printer window keeps running alongside. Switching between printers while watching in Picture in Picture is fixed. The window used to freeze within a minute or two of changing cameras; now it keeps going. Picture in Picture also comes back faster after you switch. Where the button could sit unavailable for a couple of minutes, it's usually ready in seconds. Times are easier to read. A print with 349 minutes left now says "5h 49m" — on the dashboard, in the video overlay, on the Apple TV home screen, and everywhere else it appears. Also in this release: - A broadcast that only runs for a few seconds now keeps a picture of your print as its thumbnail - The AMS alert banner matches the app's other banners

Picture in Picture is steadier, and the button no longer disappears while it gets ready — if it isn't available yet it now shows as pending instead of vanishing, so you can tell "a moment away" from "not here". Picture in Picture also survives changing networks. Leaving the house with the app running used to leave it stuck; it now reconnects on its own. Your filament is easier to read. Each AMS unit gets its own row on iPhone, and the swatches line up in columns instead of shifting whenever the loaded spool changes. On Apple TV, the print status and the AMS row now line up with each other, and the percentage is sized to match the text beside it. Also in this release: - If a logo is set, Settings now says it takes priority over the watermark text - When no printers are found on the network, the app explains why instead of showing an empty space

iPhone landscape is now a real design. Turn your phone sideways and the video fills the height, with progress, temperatures and filament in a rail beside it -- instead of the layout built for a TV. Your devices now agree with each other. Printers and cameras you set up on one device appear on the others, so a camera added on your iPhone shows up on your Apple TV without typing it all again on a remote. Access codes and passwords stay on the device that entered them unless you choose to sync those too, in which case they travel through iCloud Keychain, which is end-to-end encrypted. Pinch to zoom the video on iPhone and iPad. The camera has more detail than a phone-sized picture shows, so pinch in and drag around; double-tap to fit. Timelapses on Apple TV. The device that records your timelapses can finally show them, with a code to scan if you want to watch one on your phone. Also in this release: - Tap the filament row to see material and how much is left in each slot - The AMS row shows humidity, temperature and drying status - Start and stop a YouTube broadcast from landscape, not just portrait - A printer set up on another device now says it needs its access code, instead of waiting forever

A clearer picture of what your printer is doing, especially on multi-nozzle machines. • Each nozzle now shows a dot in the colour of the filament feeding it, so on a two-nozzle printer you can tell at a glance which spool is going where. • The filament row shows the spools this print is actually using, rather than the first few in slot order — and every loaded spool is shown, across all your AMS units. • Tap a unit to see what is in it: material and remaining percentage for each spool, with low spools called out. • A new "Print Details on Video" setting (Settings → Display). Turn it off and job status, progress and filament colours stay off the picture, so Picture in Picture, a YouTube broadcast and published timelapses all show clean video. Your watermark is unaffected. • The status line no longer runs out of room and cut off the temperature. • Video recovers in about a second when your device wakes, instead of about thirty. • The stream uses your camera's own resolution instead of assuming 1920x1080. • Timelapse Shorts are published with a thumbnail, and a finished print gets a moment on screen before the timelapse ends. • Switching camera mid-print no longer discards the timelapse recorded so far, and the source picker no longer shows the wrong device as selected. • On iPhone, the status card no longer runs off the edge of the screen, and the filament row scrolls instead of pushing everything out of view.

Two-nozzle printers, clearer filament, and a lot of reliability work. • Filament swatches are grouped by AMS unit and labelled the way the printer labels them — A and B — so you can tell at a glance which unit a colour is in. • On a two-nozzle printer, the filament actually printing is now marked. Before, nothing was. • Both nozzle temperatures are shown, rather than only the first. • Filament colours now appear on printers reporting more than one AMS unit, where the row could previously go blank. • The stream uses your camera's own resolution instead of assuming 1920x1080. • Status now comes from your printer directly whenever it's reachable on your network, and from Bambu Lab's cloud when it isn't. Your printer reports far more detail over your own network. The old "Cloud Status + LAN Video" mode is now called "Automatic". • A print that starts while your device is asleep asks before broadcasting, instead of going live unasked. • A timelapse on a long print now says up front that it will stop if your device sleeps, and gives the estimate — instead of reporting the loss once the print is over. • Switching camera mid-print no longer discards the timelapse recorded so far. • Video recovers in about a second when your device wakes, instead of about thirty. • A printer renamed in the Bambu Lab app now shows its new name here. • The status panel is easier to read over a bright print. • Your published timelapses now sync across your iPhone and iPad. • Fixed a crash on first launch, and another when skipping the printer address during setup.

Fixes and polish throughout setup and the timelapse. • Sign in to Bambu Lab from Settings → Devices. If you started with the demo printer or a LAN-only printer, there was previously no way to add your account short of reinstalling. • Setup no longer asks for your printer's access code when your Bambu Lab account has already supplied it, and fills in the printer's address from your network. • Fixed a message that claimed the app couldn't reach Bambu Lab when you simply weren't signed in. • The on-screen number pad no longer covers the verification code field when signing in. • Sign-in and setup fields are clearer to see and easier to tap. • A timelapse interrupted partway through a print is rejoined instead of lost. • A timelapse that only caught the last moments of a print is no longer published as that print's timelapse.

• If your printer rejects its access code, AmbientCast now tells you so plainly and checks your Bambu account for an updated one, instead of retrying quietly forever. • The status overlay takes up noticeably less of the screen on iPhone, leaving more room for the camera view. • Smoother video in Picture in Picture. • A timelapse interrupted part-way through a print is no longer lost.
