Three ways to correct the record. A walk can now carry a note. Open a day in the Calendar tab and write down what made it different — the van broke down, it was a half day, this one was a swap for Tuesday. The note travels with the walk onto an exported statement and into the spreadsheet, so a query a month later is something you wrote down rather than something you have to remember. A single walk's price can be corrected too. If one walk was charged differently — a bank holiday, a shorter walk, or a rate typed wrong when the dog was added — tap the price beside it and put it right. It changes that one walk and nothing else: the dog's rate stays as it is, so the next walk is priced normally, and a month you have already checked does not quietly move. And an exported statement now marks the walks that were filled in after the fact, so the two of you can tell a walk written down on the day from one worked out afterwards from the schedule.

A fix to the calendar's key. An archived dog's walks still count towards your totals, and its colour still appears as a dot on the calendar — but the key beside the grid listed only your active dogs, so a dot could carry a colour that nothing on the screen explained. Any archived dog with a confirmed walk in the month you are looking at now gets a row of its own. It is marked Archived rather than carrying a walks-a-week figure, because PawCount is not scheduling walks for it. Everything else in this release is beneath the surface: dates are now drawn through the same calendar the rest of the app uses, and less of what PawCount records for its own diagnostics is left readable outside the app.

Everything PawCount knew but did not show you. TAKE THE WHOLE RECORD WITH YOU Settings now writes every walk you have ever recorded to a single file — a PDF, a spreadsheet or a summary image — rather than one billing period at a time. Worth taking before you change iCloud account or stop using the app, because nobody else has a copy. Any single period can now be exported as a spreadsheet too. SEE THE COLOUR YOU ARE PICKING The dog colour picker shows each colour as a swatch instead of listing them by name, and the row you tap shows the colour you chose. LOOK AT AN ARCHIVED DOG WITHOUT BRINGING IT BACK An archived dog's rates and schedule can now be read without restoring it first, which used to be the only way and quietly filled in months of walks as a side effect. KNOW WHEN ICLOUD IS NOT KEEPING UP If this iPhone has been failing to send its walks to iCloud, Settings now says so instead of showing everything as fine. BACK TO TODAY IN ONE TAP The Calendar tab now offers a way back to the current month once you have stepped away from it.

Corrections throughout, and two of them touch what the app says you are owed. A walk recorded early on a day that hasn't happened yet now waits for you to confirm it, instead of counting as done. It still shows up straight away in what the period is expected to cost — it just doesn't join the amount owed until the day arrives and you say it happened. Schedule counts now say what PawCount will actually create. If a dog has a weekend day set while weekends are switched off, the "walks a week" figure and the week strip no longer count walks that will never happen. Also fixed: the confirm tick and the billing-period picker now use a colour that reads properly in dark mode; the week strip on the Dogs tab scales with your text size; the Calendar and day views no longer say you have no dogs while they may still be arriving from iCloud; the Weekends explanation in Settings now says which setting it belongs to; and the remove button on a one-off walk is announced by the name shown on the card.

This update is seven corrections, and most of them are about money. A dog could be saved without a price, and every walk it did was then recorded at nothing. With "Confirm walks automatically" on, those walks were never offered for confirmation, so the nothing stood — on the totals, on the Today tab and on an exported statement. A dog now needs a price before it can be saved, PawCount will not confirm a walk it cannot put a price on, and filling in a price that was missing puts it on the walks already recorded without one. Two changes of setting could invent walks that never happened. Setting Weekends back to Included filled in every weekend since you turned them off, and restoring an archived dog filled in the whole period it spent archived — both as confirmed, billable walks, dated into months you may already have been billed for. Each now starts from the day you make the change and leaves the days before it alone. Archiving a dog took away more than the dog. The Today tab lost its running total and its list of walks awaiting confirmation, a day in the calendar could read "No walks recorded" above a total that counted them, and the calendar's key said there were no dogs under a month full of dots. An archived dog's walks are still owed for, so every screen that counts them now shows them. On two iPhones sharing an account, a walk recorded on both could disappear from both, because each kept a different copy and removed the other's. They now agree on which copy to keep, and your confirmation, any note and the price move onto it. If your iPhone is set to a calendar other than Gregorian, the day a walk was filed under moved when that setting changed, taking walks out of the month they belonged to. Days are now recorded the same way whatever calendar the phone is set to, dates still read in the calendar you chose, and walks already filed under another one are put back where they belong.

This update corrects two issues found after 1.1.0. A day on the calendar shows a coloured dot for each dog that was walked, up to three of them. A dog walked twice on the same day was taking two of those dots, so on a busy day a third dog's colour was pushed off the tile and that dog read as though it had not been out at all. Each dog now takes one dot however many walks it had. The day's spoken description still counts walks rather than dogs, because it sits beside the day's takings, which are per walk. The Export button on the Totals tab could also offer a statement for a period it had nothing to put in one. If a walk had lost its link to its dog, the button turned itself on, and what opened was a properly laid out document stating the period had no walks in it — on the one record a bill gets checked against. The button now asks exactly the question the statement answers, so it cannot promise a document the statement will not fill.

You can now record the walks that happened before you started using PawCount. When you add a dog, pick a Start date and PawCount fills in the walks its schedule expects from that day onwards. "Start of this billing period" is one tap and lands on the right day even if your walker invoices from the middle of the month. Before you save, the screen tells you how many walks that will create, so nothing arrives as a surprise. You can go back as far as 120 days. Walks filled in for days before you added the dog wait on the Today tab for you to confirm or skip them, even if you have Confirm walks automatically switched on. Nobody was there to check those days at the time, and a walk you have not looked at should not count towards what you owe. If your schedule is reliable enough that you would rather not tap through a fortnight, there is a new setting — Confirm earlier walks too — that has them counted straight away. This means a period you joined part-way through can add up to what the walker actually billed you for.

This update corrects six issues found after 1.0.2. With Weekends set to "No walks", a dog's schedule editor still listed the weekend as if it could be scheduled. Ticking one of those days stored it and no walk was ever created. The weekend is now left off that list, as it already was under "Hidden", and the note under the schedule says how to schedule or clear those days again. "Confirm all" on the Today tab, "Back to current" on the Totals tab and the export sheet's dog picker are now easier to tap. They look the same; the area that responds to a tap now meets the 44-point minimum. Removing a one-off walk is called "Remove walk" everywhere it is offered. The calendar's day view said "Delete", which is what the Dogs tab does to a dog and all of its history. For VoiceOver: an archived dog's row no longer says it opens that dog's rates and schedule, which it does not, and the statement summary image is now described by the period and dogs it covers. If that image cannot be shown, the screen says so rather than leaving the area blank.

This update corrects three issues found after 1.0.1. If you leave PawCount open past midnight, the whole app now moves to the new day with it — the date on the Today tab, the highlighted day in the calendar, and the billing period the totals are counted against. Previously the app kept showing the previous day until it was reopened, and a walk recorded just after midnight at the end of a billing period could be left out of the running total. The summary image now says how many walks were skipped, which the full PDF already did. Sharing the summary for a single dog no longer leaves a skipped day unaccounted for. A change to your billing settings made on another device is now applied before any walks are recorded on this one, so walks are no longer counted under settings this device had not caught up with yet.

This update corrects a number of issues found after 1.0.0. If you use PawCount on more than one iPhone, a walk is no longer recorded twice when both devices are opened on the same morning, and your billing settings now follow your iCloud account properly — including after signing a device in to a different account. A device you have just signed in now waits for your dogs and walks to arrive, rather than offering to add a dog that is already on its way. Leaving the app open past midnight now brings up the new day's walks on its own, instead of waiting until the app is next reopened. A walk recorded ahead of time on a day the dog is already scheduled is no longer labelled a one-off, and is no longer counted twice in the projected total. Price fields now ignore characters that are not digits, so an accidental paste cannot change an amount without showing it.
