FieldOps turns your iPhone or iPad into a practical GIS, terrain-analysis and navigation workspace. Bring professional field data with you, inspect it where it matters and keep working when coverage becomes unreliable. GIS DATA WITHOUT THE DESKTOP Import DXF, ESRI Shapefile, GeoJSON, GPX, KML, CSV, GeoTIFF/COG and supported WebODM projects. Connect compatible XYZ, WMS, WMTS, WFS and ArcGIS REST services. Control layer visibility, opacity and order, inspect attributes, group waypoints and export selected field records in widely used GIS formats. FROM XYZ OR LAS TO A TERRAIN MODEL Turn XYZ, TXT or CSV point data—or an uncompressed LAS point cloud—into a local TIN-interpolated terrain GeoTIFF. View DEM and DTM surfaces in interactive 3D, adjust vertical exaggeration and switch between hillshade, overlapping GeoTIFF imagery, connected XYZ imagery and Apple satellite imagery. Analyse terrain with custom contours, gradient and slope tools, cross-sections, viewshed estimates and slope-aware route tools. Imported data and locally generated terrain remain under your control. Terrain analysis is marked Experimental and is not a substitute for certified survey output. OFFLINE TERRAIN ON CARPLAY Take FieldOps into the vehicle with supported CarPlay systems. Display visible project layers, including user-installed offline raster and DEM context, browse waypoints and follow road-to-field guidance. FieldOps combines road manoeuvres with direct off-road bearing guidance for destinations beyond the end of the mapped road. Use clear on-screen manoeuvres, distance and ETA, or request a saved destination with Siri. AN APPLE WATCH COMPANION FOR FIELDWORK Keep essential tools on your wrist. View your location on a standard or satellite map, use the dedicated compass, save a waypoint, record a track and navigate to saved destinations. Field tools include bearing lock, nearby waypoints, Backtrack, a live field dashboard, dictated notes, safety check-ins and a remote shutter for the iPhone camera. The Watch geology compass records planes and lineations, including strike/dip or trend/plunge, and sends the measurement back to the FieldOps project on iPhone. AR FIELD EVIDENCE Capture full-resolution field photos with a configurable permanent overlay containing time, coordinates or grid reference, accuracy, altitude, datum, bearing, pitch, roll and field notes. Add your organisation’s logo, choose favourite AR tools and view imported peaks, vector geometry and active navigation in the AR Camera. COORDINATES YOU CAN CHECK Enter waypoints as latitude/longitude or supported UTM and projected coordinates using the selected datum and EPSG system. Import CSV waypoint lists by assigning the Label, X, Y and Z columns yourself. FieldOps keeps the active coordinate reference visible so plausible-looking coordinates are less likely to be mistaken for the right ones. FIELD RECORDS THAT STAY YOURS Record GPS tracks, organise movable and collapsible waypoint groups, customise symbols, attach field photos and export your work. Field records remain on your device unless you choose to share or back them up through the iOS Files system. No FieldOps account. No advertising. No analytics. Important: Phone and Watch GPS, motion and compass sensors have finite accuracy and may be affected by terrain, buildings, vehicles, steel and magnets. Verify safety-critical, legal-boundary and certified measurements with calibrated equipment.
