Play on all your devices. Sign in with Apple, Google or email (Settings → Account): your name, times, badges and friends follow you to your iPad or your new phone. Everything you already had stays. Also new: • Badges for puzzles solved, daily winner per difficulty, and streaks of 25 and 100 days. • A Play now button in the leaderboard for today's puzzle you haven't played yet. • Pausing no longer counts against you: starting in the morning and finishing at night is fine.

A name that's yours. Picking a name is now required when you start. "Player" no longer counts as a name, and you can't pick a name that's already taken: while you type, you see right away whether it's still free. If you're still called "Player", the app asks for a real name when you open it. Swear words stay off the leaderboard, even when hidden behind digits or accents. Also since version 1.4: the server checks every submitted daily time for pauses and plausibility, anyone submitting a rejected time gets a pop-up with a wink, and Today shows a Top 10 of players ranked by their average over the last forty daily puzzles.

Leaderboard: friends only A new switch above the leaderboard. Your position stays the one from the full leaderboard — fourth is fourth, even if you only see two friends. Your matches on the home screen Finished a match and tapped the cross? You could never get back in, so you never saw the final result. Your matches from the last two days now sit on the home screen, showing who's still playing. One tap and you're back — no code needed. Starting a match is quicker Pick how you play and the difficulty in one tap. And it now says what the difference is: "Together now" counts down together and closes the moment you start, while "Share a link" lets everyone join for 24 hours on their own clock.

Bug fixes and improvements. The main one: the timer now really stops when you step away — lock your screen or put the app aside and your time no longer keeps running in the background.

Playing with friends now works the way you'd expect: • Accepting a challenge later? Your clock simply starts at 0 — no more hours of "head start" for your friend. • New challenges now show up anywhere in the app, even mid-puzzle. One tap and you're in. • The challenger gets a heads-up the moment you join: "....is in!" — and lands right back in the lobby. • Sharing a match is finally real sharing: copy and share buttons in the lobby, with a link (sudayku.com/join/CODE) that opens the match directly for your friend. No app? They'll see the code on a page instead.
