Notabula is a notes app that keeps your writing where it belongs — on your
device, and under your control.
Start typing immediately. Everything is saved locally first, so the app is
fast and works with no signal at all. When you want your notes on more than
one device, you choose how:
• iCloud — private sync across your Apple devices through your own iCloud
account. Nothing to set up, no server to run, and no account with us.
• Notabula Server — sign in to a server you host yourself. The server is
open source, and it adds a web app and sharing with other people.
You can switch between the two whenever you like.
WRITING
• Rich text: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and highlight
• Headings, bulleted and numbered lists, block quotes
• Checklists with tappable checkboxes for packing lists, groceries, tasks
• Photos, straight from your library or the camera
• Automatic links, with previews for the pages you save
ORGANIZING
• Folders, including nested folders
• #hashtags, collected automatically as you type them
• Smart views for media, links, open tasks, locked notes, and recent edits
• Full-text search across everything
• Pin the notes you keep coming back to
• Recently Deleted, so nothing disappears by accident
CAPTURE
• Share to Notabula from any app — text, links, photos, and PDFs
• Scan documents with the camera: automatic edge detection, perspective
correction, and multi-page scans saved as a single PDF
PRIVACY
• Your notes are stored on your device and work fully offline
• Lock individual notes with a password — they are encrypted on your device,
and the key never leaves it
• The developer runs no servers and collects nothing
• No analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking
Notabula is built for people who want a capable notes app without handing
their notes to somebody else's cloud.

• Faster sync: the app now fetches only what changed since your last sync instead of every note.
• Notes the server can't accept are flagged in the list instead of retrying silently.
• Sharing a web page now titles the note with the page's name.
