Books carry the publisher's words and the author. Tapping a tab always takes you back to its first page. Faster searches across the board.

Book searches come back in a second. Hold any poster for a quick rating, a line of review, the watchlist and your lists. A film shows the book it came from. Your top four can stand as DVDs, Blu-rays or VHS.

Rating feels like something now: the stars press down under your finger and tick as you slide. Bring your television from Trakt or TV Time, and your music from Spotify, Apple Music or Discogs. Two new colours, Navy and Midnight. And if you love it, encore will ask you once to say so on the App Store.

Rating something now happens on one screen: the poster, your stars and your thoughts together in one place. Watchlist and Rewatch are proper buttons, and Watchlist steps aside once you have given a rating. Share wears your colour scheme, and the card you share carries the encore mark on the poster. Search is quicker and lands on what you meant. Home loads in about a second. Saving a card to your photos now always tells you what happened.

A big tidy-up. Records are easier to read: the title leads, the poster sits alongside the certificate, running time and director, and a spoiler-free summary opens if you want it. IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes and Metascore ratings now sit beside the encore score. One category control at the top left sets the whole app at once — home, your library, lists and what your friends have been up to. Bring a library with you: import from Letterboxd or Goodreads, with your ratings, reviews, rating history, watchlist and your own lists. Also: block and report on any review, posters kept for offline, and a keyboard that gets out of the way.
