Vocast is a local voice studio for the Mac. Clone your own voice from a short reference, then turn any script into natural narration. Clean up noisy recordings with one click. Everything runs on your Mac.
On-device, private by design
Voice cloning and noise removal run on Apple Silicon, on your machine. There is no account and no upload. After the models download once, Vocast works offline. Your voice, your scripts, and your renders never leave the device.
Clone your voice
Record or import a short reference of your own voice. Vocast builds a voice profile you can reuse across projects. Cloning is meant for your own voice.
Narrate any script
Paste up to 20,000 characters. Vocast splits the text into editable blocks, renders each one, and stitches them into a single track. Play any block on its own, re-render a single block in place, or develop the whole piece to higher quality as a new version. A karaoke view highlights each word as it plays.
Remove noise
Drop in an audio or video file and Vocast cleans up steady background noise and hum with DeepFilterNet, then shows a before and after so you can compare.

Vocast is bought once and kept. There is no subscription and no per render fee.
Requirements
An Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer) on macOS 15 or later. Voice cloning uses on-device Metal acceleration. The models download once on first use.

Automation (new). Vocast can now expose a local MCP server so an agent on your Mac, such as Claude Code, can ask for narration without driving the interface. It is off by default, listens on 127.0.0.1 only, and requires a token. Creating a voice stays in the app, where consent is asked. Settings > Automation.
Honest download sizes. First-run setup now states the full amount it will download, including what the model files expand to on disk. The earlier figure counted only part of it.
Honest quality signals. The scorecard now reports only what it actually measures. Figures it cannot refresh are shown as inactive instead of stale.
