Connecting a device got simpler: no more hunting around websites. Open Plio on your phone, "My devices", tap the plus, type the code — done. Fixed ▶ on the remote: it now actually resumes the music instead of pretending to. We also tidied up a few screens, taught the now-playing icon to move, and the artwork to load on the first try.

Fixed a rare case where the television stayed on the pairing screen after the code had already been claimed.

The home screen is rebuilt: what you were listening to first, then "For you", then new albums — and the collections after those. New collections by situation: Workout, Work and focus, Calm, Sleep and meditation, Commute, Romance, Party, plus Morning, Evening and Night. Each opens on its own screen. Plus app optimisations

"Continue from your phone" now really continues: the track starts at the second you left off, not from the beginning. The "Continue" card disappears once you press it, and no longer returns on the home screen over the music it just started. The "Keep listening" row on the Apple TV home screen: fixed tiles with no artwork and a tile that opened nothing. What you picked up from your phone now sits apart, labelled "From iPhone". Genres on the search screen show the covers of the albums that genre has the most of. Fixed a bug where playback sometimes refused to start with a message about the track link.

Albums now have a "Similar" row, just like playlists — picked from the genres and moods of the album's own tracks. Genres on the search screen now carry artwork: each tile shows four albums that genre has the most of. When music stops because playback was taken to another device or this box was removed from the account, the reason now appears right on the player screen — with a "Play here" or "Reconnect" button. Before, the screen simply went quiet. Fixed: a technical error message that could stay on the home screen while music was already playing.

Your Apple TV now appears in the device list in the phone app — and can be unlinked from there. Until now it never showed up at all, so there was no way to remove it. When music will not play, the app says why: too many linked devices, playback taken over on another device, or the box unlinked from the account. Before, nothing happened on screen.

The Apple TV home screen shelf is finally alive. Instead of a static picture — "Continue listening": a row of your recent albums, any of which starts right from there without opening the app. Search: describe what you want to hear — "something calm and without words" — and the app builds a selection from it. What it finds plays as a whole list. Playlists now end with "Similar": the track list runs out, and you can see what to put on next. The television no longer unlinks itself. A failure in a background request could quietly cost it its pairing and send it back to the code screen — now the pairing does not disappear without your decision. Slot settings finally apply: shuffle, repeat and crossfade length set for a particular hour in the dashboard are now heard by the television too. Plays are no longer lost when the network drops — the records wait and arrive once the connection is back. Musician payouts are calculated from them.

Your screen now shows your venue. The logo, brand colour and social handle come from your dashboard - in "Venue brand" mode they lead, instead of the venue's name set in our own typeface. At night the television goes to sleep. When the venue is closed the screen keeps a dim clock, the name and the opening time, instead of running at full brightness until morning. Opening hours come from your dashboard; if you never filled them in, nothing changes. The whole week's schedule, on the screen. What comes on at Saturday evening is now one remote press away. The volume changes where it is shown: quieter and louder buttons now sit next to the number. When nothing is scheduled, you can start music from that same screen with "Play now". Before, that screen offered nothing at all. A removed track can be brought back: settings now list the songs you have taken out of the venue's rotation. During an air-raid alert the remote does something again - the screen can be handed back to the player for a while. This does not turn the alert sound off. Also: a payment QR code when the package lapses, VoiceOver labels on every button, and the website's typefaces in both modes.

Pausing no longer looks like a fault. A television you pause stays on its own screen — it used to say playback had moved to another device when nothing had moved anywhere, and it could not leave that screen by itself. Track changes no longer bring silence with them. The next song is made ready in advance rather than in the three seconds the crossfade lasts: on a slow connection a venue could hear the music disappear at the seam. A television switched on during an air-raid alert now says that one is running. It used to sit there showing a red screen in silence: it had missed the announcement of the alert's start, because it was switched on after it. The venue chooses how the alert screen behaves — show it the whole time, show it for ten seconds, or not at all. The sound is unaffected: the announcements play in every mode. Connecting a television got simpler. Two tabs — a QR code and manual entry — and the code can now be typed in full. A new look. The same typeface as the website, and a refreshed card on the Apple TV home screen.

The app's name is now written the same way on every screen — PLIO. Nothing else changed.

The home screen is now half as heavy on the box: cover art is no longer held in memory four times larger than what the screen actually shows. Most noticeable on older Apple TV models and on screens with many shelves. Everything looks exactly the same.

ENGLISH The app now speaks English or Ukrainian throughout, including the greeting and the shelf names on the home screen. It asks which language you read the first time it starts, and you can change it in Settings. A venue screen follows the language set in the dashboard. THE PLAYER'S BUTTONS NO LONGER VANISH UNDER YOUR HAND The seven seconds before they hide now restart every time the cursor moves between them, not only while it rests on Pause. CLEARER WHEN SOMETHING IS WRONG The app tells "no network", "the server returned an error" and "your session has ended" apart — and every one of those screens gives you something to press. SETTINGS Real switches instead of the word "On". The event log moved behind its own icon and onto a screen of its own.
