Ask Pinned - search your own places in your own words. Tap the sparkle beside the search field and ask for what you remember rather than what a place is called: "the hotel with the great breakfast", "burgers in france". Pinned answers with a place from your own notes, ratings, lists and marks, and quotes the words that matched. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence the on-device model reads your notes and ranks the answer; on every other iPhone the same search runs instantly on keywords. Nothing leaves your phone. Also in this release: • A smoother globe. Throw the planet and it coasts; leave it and it turns by itself. Zooming down to the map is one continuous descent instead of a jump. • Removing a place from a list keeps the place - its note, rating and marks stay where they were. • Search is easier to read: the map softens behind the results instead of showing through them. • After an update, a short What's New tour walks through the release. Open Pinned and you land on your own planet - a globe with the countries you've been to shaded and flagged, slowly turning until you touch it. Drag to spin, pinch in and it becomes the map, or tap a country's flag to fly straight there. Trips: paste a multi-stop Google Maps directions link and it becomes a ranked list, every stop in driving order - and any ranked list can go back out as directions. Imports now recognize places you already saved, so nothing lands twice. Plus: "Photos I took here" sees your whole photo library, the globe greets you only after time away, and a handful of fixes for smoothness.

Watch a place, and Pinned tells you when you're near it. Turn on "Watch these places" when you edit a list, or tap Watch on a single place - walk near one and a notification says so. Tap it to see the place on the map. Everything stays on your phone. The map got calmer and quicker: - A selected place sits centred in the map you can see, and tapping place after place keeps your zoom. - With a list open, the map is that list's - its places, nothing else crowding them, at every zoom. - Places keep their photographs at every zoom level. - Rename a place and your name for it shows everywhere at once; Reset brings the original back. Plus a number of fixes for smoothness and stability.

Open a list and every place in it is on the map — nothing folds into a cluster or hides behind a neighbour, and the zoom leaves room for the pins themselves. Pins stay put while you zoom instead of appearing and disappearing as the map settles. Tap the locate arrow twice: once for your neighbourhood, again for your street. Opening the app starts you at city scale rather than a whole region. Nearby and Lists sections collapse, a list's photo reads larger at the head, every row photo is a circle, and search results sit on glass so the map still shows underneath. Sharing a list now asks what should go with it. Your notes travel as before; your ratings and Been / Want / Favourite marks are each yours to include or leave out, one share at a time. Marks someone shares with you are shown as theirs and never written onto your own places. iCloud backup now carries what it used to leave behind: your settings and profile, the places and lists you are watching, your country-visit history, and the photos you have added. Export lets you choose what to include rather than always writing everything. Fixed: Alerts could say "Off" in Settings while a list was genuinely being watched, and a long description in a list left a block of empty space beside it.

Thousands more places now show a real photograph — 4,607 of them, including Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, the Statue of Liberty and Central Park. Photographs appear on the map itself, not only in lists. Select several places inside a list and copy, move or remove them in one go. Correcting a place's type is faster: the picker filters as you type, and the change now shows everywhere immediately. Place Alerts can tell you when you are near somewhere on a list you watch, and ask afterwards whether you were there — answerable straight from the lock screen.
