Your Jenkins pipelines, right in the menu bar — live status, full stage views with logs, and run, stop & rebuild controls.
BuildCaptain is a native build monitor for Jenkins that lives in your menu bar — status at a glance, logs and build controls one click away. It watches Jenkins so you don't have to keep a browser tab open.
PINNED TO YOUR MENU BAR
Choose the pipelines that matter and see their live status all day, updated as runs progress. Browse Jenkins folders and multibranch projects and pin any branch's pipeline.
STAGE-BY-STAGE VIEW
Nested and parallel stages laid out clearly, with step logs when you need to dig in — one click deep, not five browser tabs.
RUN, STOP, REBUILD
Trigger builds without leaving your computer. String, text, boolean, choice, and password parameters are all supported, right from the stage view.
THE WHOLE HARBOR
Running builds across all executors, the queue, agents, and recent history — your whole Jenkins at a glance.
ALERTS THAT MATTER
Failure, recovery, and completion notifications — know the build broke before the team chat does.
AI AGENTS, ON YOUR TERMS
Let Claude Code, Codex, or any MCP client start the builds you allow — per repository, parameter-checked, with your approval. Via the optional open-source CLI.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
BuildCaptain talks only to your Jenkins server. No analytics, no telemetry, no account. Your API token lives in the keychain and only travels over HTTPS — plain HTTP is refused outright.
TRULY NATIVE
Built with SwiftUI, light on memory and battery. Menu-bar-only or Dock mode, optional launch at login, and polling that backs off when your builds are idle.
REQUIREMENTS
• macOS 14 or newer
• A Jenkins server over trusted HTTPS with the Pipeline Graph View plugin
• A Jenkins API token with read permission for jobs and builds (run, stop, and rebuild additionally need build, cancel, and replay permissions)
One purchase, no subscription.
Ratings & Reviews

Connect to Jenkins over plain HTTP on your own network. An internal Jenkins that only answers on http:// can now be added when it sits on a private address — your LAN, a VPN, or localhost. Servers reached over the public internet still require HTTPS, so your API token is never exposed in transit.
Scan Repository Now. Multibranch projects gained a Scan button in the sidebar and a matching item in the context menu. Jenkins only knows the branches it has indexed, so a branch you just pushed no longer means a detour through the Jenkins web interface.
Fixed: scrolling inside a stage's output no longer zooms the pipeline graph behind it.
