Cicadachirp is an acoustic and phenological tool for field observers of cicadas. The homepage allows searching for instruments, species and terms; it includes nine calculations such as chirp temperature gauge, tympanic membrane pulse, chorus loudness, distance attenuation, wavelength, emergence clock, accumulated temperature, sample line density and recording budget, and provides a click counter for on-site counting. The log can save readings and sighting records, the identification guide includes species, terms and sound level references, and the settings support units, themes and camera framing. All calculations are completed locally on the device, making it suitable for research and recording of cicadas and other chirping insects.
