Mindslip is a notepad that lives in your Mac's menu bar and gives every day one note and
one checklist. Click the icon and it floats above whatever you are doing. Click it again
and it is gone.
RECORDS THE CALL, NOT JUST YOUR SIDE
Start a capture and Mindslip transcribes both halves of the conversation into today's
note — your microphone and the audio your Mac is playing — labelled You and System, so
you can tell who said what afterwards. It works with any app that makes sound, because it
listens to the Mac rather than to a particular piece of software.
THE DAY WRITES ITSELF DOWN
Ask for a summary and Mindslip reads the day's note and gives you two or three sentences
and up to five suggested to-dos. Suggestions are a staging area, not a dump: you add the
ones you want and discard the rest. Nothing is ever changed in what you wrote.
ALL OF IT ON YOUR MAC
Speech becomes text on this Mac, using Apple's on-device transcription. Summaries run on
Apple Intelligence, on this Mac. There is no Mindslip account and no Mindslip server.
Audio is transcribed as it arrives and is never written to disk.

MADE FOR THE MENU BAR
The notepad is a floating panel that stays with you across Spaces and displays, and
collapses to a single bar when you want it out of the way. There is a full window too,
with a day list and search, if you would rather work there. Five themes, and the whole
app follows the one you pick.
PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION
iCloud sync is optional and uses your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read.
No account, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party services.
FREE, AND PRO
The notepad is free and stays free: every day, every to-do, sync, PDF export, all five
themes, and dictation from your microphone.
Mindslip Pro adds recording the call with You / System labels, on-device summaries and
suggested to-dos, and the six additional editor faces. Pro is $39.99 per year with a
14-day free trial, or $99.99 once for a lifetime licence. Subscriptions renew
automatically until cancelled; you can cancel any time in System Settings.
REQUIREMENTS
macOS 26 or later, on a Mac with Apple silicon. Summaries need Apple Intelligence to be
turned on. Recording your Mac's audio asks for the Microphone and System Audio Recording
permissions the first time you use it, and Mindslip explains both before macOS does.
