TheBookSailor is the social network for writers, readers and publishing professionals. It's not a manuscript inbox: you publish, follow, comment and chat in private. And if you read, what you give comes back: every report you deliver opens one more spot for others to read your work.
Publish your manuscript and get real beta readers, discover unpublished stories before anyone else, or offer your publishing services to the whole community. Creating your account is free and needs no card.
FOR WRITERS
• Upload your manuscript and recruit beta readers who fit your work.
• Design your own questionnaires and get ratings and actionable feedback.
• Say which language you write in: people who read in your language find you.
• Publish in the public library and manage all your works from your dashboard.
• Enter your works in contests and win illustrated cards that can't be bought.
• Request quotes from publishing professionals: editing, layout, illustration…
• Share your process on the wall and talk privately with your readers.
FOR READERS
• Read beta manuscripts and give feedback that drives authors forward.
• Every report you deliver gives you one more spot for others to read your own work, plus gems and reputation.
• Get access to unpublished stories before they're published anywhere.
• Review books from the library and build your taste in plain sight.
• Take part in contests: the community votes and the podium takes gold, silver and bronze.
• Join a reading club: read the same book at the same time and vote on the next read.
• Follow your favourite authors and discover what's new in your feed.
FOR PUBLISHING PROFESSIONALS
• Appear in the Publishing Portal, the public directory of professionals.
• Receive quote requests from authors across the community.
• Show the books you've published and build your reputation.
• Manage your profile and your catalogue of services in one place.
A COMMUNITY, NOT AN INBOX
A wall with no algorithm hiding you. Two tabs and you choose: "For you", the whole community; "Following", only the accounts you follow — you decide your feed, not a machine. You post, comment, react, quote and reply. Direct messages with your beta readers, with an author you follow or with the professional you asked for a quote. Tag the topics you care about with #. Every post has a public link: share it anywhere, even with people who don't have an account.
YOUR ACTIVITY GETS REWARDED
Every contest gives out an illustrated card, signed by a different artist: gold, silver and bronze for the podium, and a regular version for everyone who enters a work. Cards live in your album, with the gaps for the ones you're missing in plain view, and your album is public: anyone can see what you've won from your profile. They aren't sold or exchanged for money — they're earned by writing.
Earn XP, level up and unlock badges for what you do inside.
Choose your role and change it whenever you like. Everything in one account: reading, publishing your first work and taking part are free, and Prime is there if you want to publish without limits and see new projects before anyone else.
Your next story starts on board.
