DayPlay: ADHD Alarm & Routine
Won't stop until you wake up
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
New: morning proof. Take a photo of the spot you walk to after waking, and the alarm stops only when a new photo there matches.
Turning the alarm off is easy. Getting up is hard.
DayPlay is an alarm that refuses to be the end of the conversation. It rings through Silent mode and Focus, and when mission lock is on, the stop button does not send you back to bed. It opens your routine on step one, and the alarm keeps ringing until you confirm that step, or until you take a photo of the spot you chose the night before.
A REAL ALARM, NOT A NOTIFICATION
On iOS 26 and later DayPlay uses Apple's AlarmKit, the same system the built in Clock app uses. Full screen alert, Lock Screen presence, Dynamic Island, and sound that cuts through Silent mode and Do Not Disturb. On older systems DayPlay falls back to a burst of time sensitive notifications and tells you so on screen, because an alarm app that quietly does less than it promised is worse than no alarm app.
MISSION LOCK
Choose what "awake" means. With mission lock on, stopping the alarm opens the task instead of ending it. Confirm your first step, or set a morning proof: a photo of the place you walk to, like the bathroom sink or the coffee machine. Then only a matching photo taken there stops the sound. The matching happens on your phone and the photo never leaves it.
COUNTED SNOOZES
Unlimited snoozing is the problem, not the feature. Give yourself zero, one, two or three snoozes per routine. When they run out the snooze button is not greyed out. It is gone.
ESCAPE PROTECTION
Force quitting the app or turning the volume down while the mission is locked does not end the alarm. The system alarm comes back within about thirty seconds. Getting past DayPlay takes more effort than getting up.
THEN THE ROUTINE PLAYS ITSELF
Once you are up, DayPlay plays your routine the way a music player plays an album. One step fills the screen, a large countdown runs, and there is one button. You never have to hold the whole list in your head. The countdown stays on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, and there is an Apple Watch companion for done, skip and a little more time.
BUILT FOR MORNINGS THAT USUALLY FALL APART
DayPlay is made for people who sleep through three alarms, who lose twenty minutes between waking and starting, and who have been told to "just try harder". It is ADHD friendly by design: no shaming language, no broken streak drama, no wall of checkboxes. The weekly summary shows planned versus actual minutes honestly, because a routine you cannot measure is a routine you cannot fix.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
No account. No DayPlay server. Your routines, step names and history stay on your device and can be exported as JSON whenever you want. Anonymous usage counters can be switched off in Settings with one tap, and the same screen shows you exactly what was recorded.
FREE, AND WHAT PRO ADDS
The real alarm, mission lock, escape protection, the player, reminders and the Lock Screen timer are all free, with up to two routines. DayPlay Pro removes the routine limit so morning, evening, workout and medication can each have their own alarm, and adds weekly insight suggestions, two extra theme packs and flexible streak protection.

Prove you are up.
MORNING PROOF
Pick a spot you walk to after waking, like the bathroom sink or the coffee machine, and take a photo of it. When the alarm rings with mission lock on, a matching photo taken there stops it. The match happens on your phone and the photo never leaves it.
HARDER TO ESCAPE
Close the app or turn the volume down while the mission is locked and the system alarm comes back within about 30 seconds.
TIME'S UP CUE
When a step runs out of time you get a short vibration and sound. If the phone is in your pocket, a Lock Screen notice tells you. You can turn it off in Settings.
APPLE WATCH
A new button on the watch gives the current step a little more time.
A CALMER LOOK
A bigger clock, simpler screens and setup in fewer taps. Permissions are now asked in one clear step.
FIXES
Alarms stay right when you travel to another time zone and across daylight saving changes. Editing a routine no longer cancels a pending snooze. Plus many smaller fixes.
