A more focused and expressive NostaLens camera experience is here. A CLEANER LIVE VIEWFINDER The viewfinder is larger, calmer and more immersive. Flash or microphone, date stamp, composition, active camera and settings controls now sit together above the live image. The Photo and Video selector remains at the bottom of the viewfinder and expands naturally for every supported language instead of shortening labels with an ellipsis. NEW 3D CAMERA ARTWORK Camera tools now use original 3D objects with matte clay, resin and pearl details. Separate front- and rear-camera artwork shows which camera is active, while selected controls use the current look’s accent colour. Every built-in camera also has a distinctive artwork card. Emoji and film-perforation decorations have been removed, creating a smoother, more compact carousel. Selected cameras stand out through colour and depth, while custom cameras retain a personal marker. FLASH THAT MATCHES YOUR CAMERA Flash behaviour now follows the active camera. On a supported rear camera, NostaLens prepares the real LED flash for the next photograph. On the front camera, a warm screen flash briefly raises display brightness before capture and safely restores the previous level. Availability is checked as cameras and hardware conditions change. If flash becomes unavailable, NostaLens now explains what happened. A BETTER COMPOSITION PANEL Composition controls open in a clean bottom sheet on iPhone and a focused popover on iPad. Grid and Level have raised cards, while the 3- and 10-second timer uses a simple segmented control. Large text, VoiceOver and Reduce Motion remain fully supported. SETTINGS AND LAYERS, REIMAGINED Settings now uses clearer 3D artwork throughout, and a new NostaLens title mark creates a consistent identity across Settings and Layers. The Layers editor gains dedicated artwork for colour grading, monochrome, soft focus, flash, halation, grain, vignette, light leaks, scanlines, compact digital colour, duotone press and frames. Controls remain adjustable, and combinations can still be saved as custom cameras. A RICHER ROLL PHOTO VIEW Opening a photograph from Roll now presents an editorial preview and file details. See the camera used, capture date and time, aspect ratio, pixel resolution, JPEG format and file size. Built-in, legacy and custom cameras are matched to appropriate artwork, while missing files show a clear explanation. Share Photo remains within easy reach and releases the large preview while sharing is prepared, helping reduce memory pressure. A NEW SHARING EXPERIENCE The sharing screen respects each photograph or video’s real aspect ratio instead of forcing a fixed Story frame. Information chips show the camera, media type, video duration and sound status. Instagram Stories, WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok and More each have an original 3D destination object. The selected destination remains visible with an accent outline and progress indicator. Existing Story hand-offs, system sharing, retry, cancellation and file clean-up behaviours are preserved. POLISH, ACCESSIBILITY AND RELIABILITY • Improved layouts across compact iPhones, standard iPhones and iPad. • Increased clarity in light and dark appearances. • Preserved minimum 44-point touch targets. • Improved VoiceOver labels, values and focus behaviour. • Respected Reduce Motion across redesigned surfaces. • Fixed Flash taps that could appear unresponsive. • Fixed Photo and Video labels being shortened to “…”. • Improved camera state handling after an unsuccessful switch. • Ensured screen brightness is restored after capture, error, timeout, cancellation or backgrounding. • Improved sharing, temporary-file clean-up and photo-detail memory use.
