Each alert now arrives once. Events were being announced twice — the app was notifying you on top of the notification already sent to your phone. Cancelling an SOS clears it everywhere: the bar in the app and the notification on everyone's lock screen, not just on the phone that cancelled it. The map is light at every hour now. The night map is gone.

Bigger, clearer type everywhere, and a redrawn map: warmer ground, cooler water, larger street names. Ring a phone. Open a family member and tap Ring this phone — useful when it is under a cushion two metres away. An SOS now cuts through Do Not Disturb and Focus, and the person who raised it can see and cancel it straight away.

Two fixes for the map and your alerts. The map no longer leaves people where they were when you last opened the app — positions now update live again after the app has been in the background. Territories no longer announce the same arrival twice. Coming home used to raise "left" and "arrived" a few minutes apart when nobody had moved.

When someone's position is only approximate, the map now shows a circle for how far off it might be, instead of a pin that looks exact. A phone that has been still for a while now notices when you set off. And if deleting your account doesn't go through, location sharing stays on.

Fixes the in-app SOS banner not appearing. The alert arrived as a notification but the banner inside the app stayed silent, because an alert that landed while the app was still starting up was filed as old news and never shown.

Approve someone from the notification itself — a new Approve button on "wants to join", so you don't have to open the app and find them in a list. And the person waiting is finally told when you let them in. If you belong to a tribe, the app now opens on it rather than on your own map. Fixed map badges flicking to the corner of the screen while people moved.

Create or join a tribe and you now land straight in it, with the invite code ready to share — and that tribe becomes the map the app opens on. Before, a tribe you had just made left you exactly where you were, and the code you needed next was two taps away.

Fixed a session that could expire and never come back. The app looked signed in while nothing would load, and the only way out was signing out and back in. It now renews the session before the token expires, and on the rare occasion one really has ended it says so instead of leaving you on a map that has quietly stopped updating. Fixed late-arrival and quiet-phone alerts arriving as an emergency SOS. They now read as what they are, so a real SOS still means something.

Someone walking now reads as moving rather than stopped, and their street address keeps up with them. Fixed a lock-screen arrival watch that could get stuck and refuse to start again. A phone that is simply parked no longer raises a "last seen" warning overnight. New: change your password in Profile → Security.

Arrival alerts now work with the app closed. Your phone watches your territories itself instead of waiting for TribeSentry to notice, so "left school" and "got home" actually arrive. Territories show who is in them: lit, and carrying their faces, while somebody is there — a dashed outline when empty. No more false alarms about a parked phone that is perfectly fine. New territories are 150 m across by default, big enough that walking through one is noticed.

SOS now works with no signal at all. If there is no data connection it falls back to a text message carrying your coordinates. Battery saver: below 20% we report less often, so your phone keeps sharing for hours longer instead of dying. Who checked on me: every time somebody opens your location, you can see it. Late arrivals: TribeSentry learns the usual times and tells your tribe when someone has not got home. Speed alerts are now set per person - on for the new driver, off for you. Watch somebody arrive on your lock screen, with distance and time remaining. The map has been redesigned around how fresh each location is, so an old position never looks like a live one. And it no longer asks to track you: ads are non-personalised only.

Fewer interruptions. TribeSentry used to ask for background location every single time you opened it. Now it asks once, at the point where it actually matters — and never twice in a row. The notification prompt has moved too: it appears when you join or create a tribe, which is when alerts start meaning something, rather than seconds after you sign in.
