Switched from Windows? FileNav X brings the Explorer workflow to macOS: dual panes, a real folder tree, an editable address bar, and the shortcuts your hands know. Switched to a Mac and found that managing files suddenly takes twice as long? FileNav X is built for you. It brings the Windows Explorer workflow to macOS. Two panes side by side, an always-visible folder tree, an editable address bar you can type a path into, and the keyboard shortcuts your hands already know. Enter opens a file. F2 renames. Delete moves to Trash. Copy and paste behave like copy and paste. Nothing to relearn, and no fighting your own muscle memory. A REAL TWO-PANE FILE MANAGER Copy from one side to the other, compare two folders, and keep both places in view. Tabs let you keep several folders open in one window, and the folder tree shows your whole drive — a real expandable tree, not a list of favorites. While files move, the progress readout reports the speed in MB/s and how long is left, so you can tell a slow copy from a stalled one. SEE INSIDE A FOLDER BEFORE YOU OPEN IT Folders holding photos or video show a preview of their contents right on the folder itself, the way Explorer does, so you can pick the right one at a glance. A folder that is mostly pictures opens in grid view on its own the first time you visit it. IT REMEMBERS HOW YOU WORK Every folder remembers whether you left it in list or grid, and reopens that way. Folders you have never set keep your usual view. Press Command-N and the new window opens on the monitor you are actually working on, sized to match — not parked in a corner of another screen. FIND AND ORGANIZE Search deeply through folders, with regular expressions when you need precision. Rename hundreds of files at once with a live preview before anything is written. Collect files from different folders in the Drop Stack, then move them in one go. Tag files, compare folders, find duplicates by content, and undo any move, rename or delete. SEE WHERE YOUR SPACE WENT The disk visualizer maps a folder by size so you can see which directories are actually large, including hidden files. When something cannot be read it says so, rather than quietly understating the total. ARCHIVES, BUILT IN Create and extract ZIP and TAR archives from the context menu, with optional password protection on ZIP files. Verify downloads with MD5 and SHA checksums. CLOUD STORAGE Connect Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive and browse them next to your local folders. Transfers run in the background in a queue you can watch and pause. PRIVACY FileNav X has no analytics, no tracking and no telemetry. It does not report what you open or how you use it. Your files stay on your Mac unless you connect a cloud account yourself and choose what to move. Bought once. No subscription, no license key to keep track of.
