magic beans is out of beta with its own settings card. the sidebar fits your screen, with every page one tap away. make a shopping list from a planned meal, and share a magic link straight to another device.

edits from two devices now both survive the sync, and saving a form only writes what you changed. settings shows your beanies plan (free beta).

type 'remind me to walk the dog on fri at 10am' and magic beans makes it a to-do. shared notes become to-dos too, and every activity keeps its own to-dos and lists. plus minor bug fixes and improvements.

who owns what is here, in beta: a deck of household cards that shows who looks after what, with a family check-in every few weeks. plus the bean pod in the sidebar, multi-day repeating activities and calendar fixes.

magic beans can now read your bank statements: hand it a pdf, a photo or a csv and check every transaction before it's added. plus recovery kit management, clearer save buttons and a new interest category.

signing in is smoother: scan a code to sign in on a new device, then approve it in one step with your passkey or pin. beanies links open straight in the app, and removing a family member now takes away their access.

you can now sign in on a new device with your own beanies magic link, no password and no hunting for your family file. we also fixed a run of issues with joining a family and signing in on a second device.

magic beans now works the same way behind every door: hand beanies a photo or a file from anywhere and it reads it into the right thing. if it reads the wrong kind, telling it so is free. plus a calmer wait, a beanie wall you can filter to more than one person, and a batch of smaller fixes.

family birthdays now show on every calendar view, including the beanie wall - worked out from the date on each bean's profile, pets included. public holidays join them in the wall's all-day band. plus the google calendar import and a fix for the on-screen keyboard on the wall.

signing in now says what it is actually doing, and asks for the secret your family really uses. the beanie wall can be edited from the wall: add, rename and remove jobs, and the chore board and travel plans no longer hide anything.

Your cookbook can now be sorted, filtered and grouped. Recipes carry a course, your own tags, and the meals they suit. Dark mode has been rebuilt so every shade of text reads clearly after sunset. Saving and sharing now works properly in the app. The recovery kit, meal-plan PDFs, data exports and saved photos all open the share sheet, so you can put the file where you want it. Recipes captured from a web link pick up the dish photo far more often. iPads now rotate freely and follow your own rotation-lock setting.
