Terra identifies the plant in your photo, then shows what it is, what it contains, and how it has traditionally been used. Every entry links out to PubMed, MedlinePlus and World Flora Online, so you can read the primary source yourself. IDENTIFY WHAT YOU FOUND Point the camera at a leaf, a flower or a root. Terra returns the common name, the botanical name in Latin, and its three most likely matches — each with a confidence score and the traits that tell them apart. Look-alikes are the whole problem in plant identification, so Terra gives you the shortlist rather than one confident guess. AN ILLUSTRATED REFERENCE A searchable catalog of culinary and medicinal herbs, each with a vintage botanical illustration. Filter by wellness category or by the part of the plant that gets used — leaf, flower, root, bark, seed, berry, fruit, stem or sap. BROWSE BY WELLNESS CATEGORY 45 categories, from immune support and digestive health to sleep, joint health and stress reduction. Pick one and see which herbs are traditionally associated with it. ACTIVE COMPONENTS See the compounds a plant carries and at what level — trace, moderate, high or very high — and put two or more herbs side by side to compare them. HERBS IN YOUR AREA Drop a pin where you found something and build your own map. Terra reads your Köppen-Geiger climate zone and lists the herbs that grow in it, with the months each one blooms and is ready to harvest. A climate overlay is one tap away. RECIPES AND PREPARATIONS Choose herbs and a wellness topic, and Terra drafts a traditional preparation — a tea, an infusion, a blend. Save the ones you want to keep. YOUR OWN CATALOG Favourites, scan history and saved recipes, synced to your account. Sign in with Apple or Google. SOURCES AND LIMITS Terra is an educational reference, not a medical service. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent anything, and nothing in it substitutes for advice from a doctor or pharmacist. Herb entries are compiled from public reference databases — PubMed, PubMed Central, MedlinePlus, World Flora Online and Dr. Duke's Phytochemical Database — and every plant links directly into them by botanical name. Photo identification is never definitive, and many plants have toxic look-alikes. Never eat, drink or apply a plant on the strength of an app identification alone. Do not use herbal preparations while pregnant or breastfeeding, when giving them to children, or alongside prescription medication, without first speaking to a doctor or pharmacist.
