Koup
Connect, Share & Campus Life
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Koup is a private network for verified university students. The market, the feed, the events, the photos and the public groups are all scoped to your own campus.
Sign up with your university email. Your posts, listings and messages stay inside your campus community, not open to the wider internet.
Market: Buy and sell on campus.
Textbooks, dorm essentials, furniture, electronics, apparel, sports and outdoor gear; plus a Free Stuff section for whatever you are just giving away.
- Browse by category, filter by condition and price range
- Sort by newest or price, save listings for later
- Message the seller in one tap and arrange a meet-up on campus
- No shipping, no couriers, no strangers from across the country
Nest Finder: Find a roommate
Match with roommates the way you would actually pick one.
- Budget, move-in date, lease length, on-campus or off-campus
- Lifestyle traits: cleanliness, sleep schedule, social battery, party habits, smoking, pets
- Like or pass, then message once you have both matched
- Completely opt-in — off until you turn it on, and you can turn it back off
The Chirp: Your campus feed
Ask the question everyone has, post a shoutout, or just see what people are talking about today.
- Categories: General, Question, PSA, Shoutout, Funny, Rant, Confession, Crush
- Post anonymously when you would rather not put your name on it
- Course feeds — follow your classes, see who else is in them, and read or write course reviews
- Comment with text or a photo, like, and save the posts you want to keep
Flyby: Photos all across campus life.
A photo feed only verified students at your university can see.
- Three views: Campus, Friends, and Threads
- Threads are campus moments — move-in week, homecoming, finals week
- React with emoji, tag friends, and keep your best shots as Highlights on your profile
The Perch: What is on this week?
Everything happening on campus in one place.
- Campus Life, Academic, Career, Social, Wellness and Sports
- Browse by date, see what is trending, and mark yourself interested
- See which of your friends are going
- Running something? Submit your club night, tryout or study session, and post updates to everyone interested
Messages
- Direct messages, group chats, and public groups anyone on campus can join
- Photos, videos, documents and voice notes
- Emoji reactions, replies, and search within a conversation
- Read receipts you can switch off
Spotlight
Your quick campus browse: what is trending on the feed, events coming up, fresh listings, new campus photos, and a quick poll.
Verified and moderated: Koup only works if the person on the other side is really a student, so safety is not an afterthought.
- University email verification, and you choose your campus when you sign up
- Two-factor authentication with an authenticator app, plus recovery codes
- Block anyone, and report any post, listing, photo, comment or profile, all reports go to a real moderation team
- Automated screening pipeline on all images and text posted before they reach the feed
- Control your own privacy: read receipts, whether message previews appear on your lock screen, whether your courses show on your profile, and exactly which push notifications you receive
- Delete your account and your content at any time, from inside the app
Koup is free, and rolls out campus by campus. If your university is already on Koup, your email address is all you need.
