What’s new in 1.7.0 Note your arrival in a tap. When you’re near a booked hotel, Stayed can suggest a check-in time for you to confirm. It never checks you in automatically, and the approximate location check stays on your phone. Points estimates are now visible on the free plan, just blurred. Reminders keep working even when you have lots of stays booked, with cancellation and points deadlines first.

Tell it when you check in: Your stay now follows what is relevant during your trip, not just the dates. Tap Checked in when you arrive and Checked out when you leave, and the card says so. Left a day early? Say so, and the stay ends there, without touching your booking. Reminders now reach you. Stayed asks once, and tells you what it will send before iOS does: before a free cancellation runs out, on check-in morning with the day's briefing, and before check-out. Nothing else. Your dates stop moving when you fly. A stay on the 4th is the 4th, wherever in the world you open the app, on every screen and in every reminder. The night before a stay, a reminder at six brings your check-in time and the way there. Your Passport counts the hotels you keep going back to, with a stamp for the one you return to most. Eight more hotel brands wear their own mark, including AC Hotels, Aloft, Residence Inn and Four Points.

Did your points actually post? Log what your programme credited and Stayed compares it against what the stay was expected to earn. If nothing arrived at all, it gathers everything the claim form asks for and points you at the programme's own one. Open a stay somewhere you have been before and Stayed says which visit this is, the room you had last time, and whether you said you would book again. Oh, also, your phone now also reads confirmations without limit. The five free reads a month are on the cloud, and it only steps in when your phone comes up short!

Where your year lands, in one place. The tier screen used to give you the answer twice, in two different shapes, with a wall of small print between them. It now says it once, and shows the number you are actually aiming at instead of leaving you to work it out. Points estimates explain themselves. If an estimate needs the booking total, the app asks for it rather than showing nothing at all. Adding a stay by hand now confirms itself, the way a forwarded booking always has. Smaller things: cards press the way they look like they should, photos open from the picture you tapped, and more of the app reads correctly with VoiceOver and at larger text sizes.

Smoother in the hand Photographs now resolve into place instead of blinking in. Anything you dismiss gets out of the way faster, and anything arriving takes its time. Settings reads more calmly: lighter dividers and a little more room between rows. If you use Reduce Motion, more of the app now honours it.

- Your spending, in one currency - Pick your preferred currency in Settings and your Passport totals follow it, converted at the rates on the dates you travelled. - Stays you booked abroad now count towards your spending instead of sitting outside it. - Every stay still shows what you were actually charged, in the currency you paid it in.

Photographs, and where you stand on cancelling. - Tap the photograph on a stay to see the property's own gallery. - Your cancellation terms are now a short timeline: what you can still do, what it costs after, and when each of those changes. Shown in the property's own time, because that is the clock the deadline is normally expected from, not your own timezone. - The ask about the area feature now understands your trip. Suggestions follow your dates and whether you are travelling for work or pleasure, depending on what you search you can get redirected from places shown in chat to Maps and also get some honest walking times information, and you can ask follow-up questions without starting over. - Villas, apartments and guest houses are much easier to find when you add a stay manually. Properties that showed no photograph now should have them, and the map behind a photo-less stay is crisp again for instances where the photo library falls short. The free plan grew. - Keep every stay: the five-stay limit is gone, and your whole travel history fits on the free plan. - Your first loyalty programme is free: night counts, points, certificates and expiry warnings all work. Pro tracks every programme you carry. - The app still reads five booking confirmations for you each month for free. Pro reads them all. - New programme: the Island Insiders Club, for Sandals and Beaches stays. - Stays brought in from a file now bring their countries with them, and their hotels start finding their place on the globe. - Choose your units in Settings: Celsius or Fahrenheit for the forecast, kilometres or miles for distances. - New in Settings: a Change Log, so you can always see how the app is evolving.

A new look for Stayed. The app now sits on an ambient background that follows the time of day, from dawn through to night, and the Passport, the loyalty wallet and every stay card have been redrawn around it. Also in this version: The Passport drill-downs now stand on that same background, instead of a flat dark panel. In "Found in your email", the time a message arrived no longer gets cut off. The sender's address shortens instead, so the time always reads in full. Rows in Settings are divided by one edge again, not two.

A new look, and a few things that were quietly not working. THE LOOK Stayed is built from daylight now. Every screen stands on an ambient wash that takes its colour from the hour, so the app reads warm at dawn, cool through the middle of the day and deep after dark. Cards, sheets and controls are glass over that wash rather than flat panels on it. The app icon is redrawn to match, and four alternates come with it. Choose one in Settings under Preferences. The Passport, the loyalty wallet, Settings and the subscription screen have all been rebuilt on the new surface. The numbers you open to check something, like the qualifying nights ledger, deliberately stay on a solid plate: glass over a figure costs the legibility the figure exists for. FIXED Tapping the middle of a stay card did nothing. Only the parts of the card with something drawn on them responded to a finger, so most of it ignored you. Every part of the card opens the stay now. Removing the last address you accept forwarded mail from used to happen on a swipe with no warning. Because an empty list means no filter, that quietly returned the inbox to accepting mail from any sender. It now tells you that before it happens, and asks. Deleting a loyalty certificate took one tap and could not be undone. It asks first, and says what goes with it. Removing your profile photo did the same, and was styled as the quietest thing on its row. It now reads like what it is, and confirms. ALSO Larger text sizes hold their shape in more places, particularly the qualifying nights ledger, the membership form and the certificate wallet. VoiceOver reads the qualifying nights ledger as one line per stay instead of four, announces the screen that welcomes you after your first stay, and no longer reads a decorative logo before the programme name sitting next to it. Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency now reach every screen rather than most of them.

Fixes for three things you told us about, and one new thing. Bookings no longer land in the wrong place. A confirmation for a property Apple Maps does not recognise could get attached to a similarly named building near you, which then put the wrong city and the wrong clock on the cancellation deadline. Stayed now keeps the name and address from your own confirmation rather than guessing. The booking review screen fits on smaller iPhones. On narrow screens some controls, including Close, were pushed off the edge. Profile initials handle two surnames properly. A name like Maria Garcia Lopez now shows MG rather than ML. New: you can rate Stayed from Settings, next to Submit feedback.
