The reading update: real book pages, the original art, a quiz after every chapter, and bonus chapters for extra XP. Reading has never been this rewarding.
Screen time your kids actually earn.
Chore Unlock flips the daily screen-time battle on its head. Instead of nagging, kids do their chores to unlock their apps — and the phone or tablet locks and unlocks itself, automatically.
HOW IT WORKS
1. You set the chores (and how much each one is worth).
2. Your child does them and snaps a quick photo as proof.
3. AI double-checks the photo — no more "I did it, promise!"
4. When the work is done, their apps unlock — or they earn XP to spend on screen time. When it isn't, everything stays locked.
No timers to babysit. No arguments. Screen time becomes something kids choose to earn.
TWO WAYS TO UNLOCK
• All-or-nothing — finish the chores, the apps unlock. Simple and strict.
• Earn screen time with XP (Premium) — chores earn XP and XP buys minutes. You set a free daily baseline and the XP price per 30 minutes; your child finishes chores, then spends XP to start a screen-time session. Kids learn to budget their time instead of scrolling all day.
• NEW — Expensive Apps: not all screen time is equal. Put apps like social media in their own "Expensive" group with a steeper XP price and no free minutes. Minecraft can be cheap; TikTok can cost triple. You set every price.
WHY PARENTS LOVE IT
• Auto-Lock — powered by Apple Screen Time. Chore Unlock locks them until chores are finished, then unlocks them on its own.
• Evening re-lock — schedule chores by time of day. An after-dinner job like taking out the trash? Apps re-lock in the evening until it's done.
• Photo proof + AI check — kids submit a photo and AI confirms it's really done. NEW: write your own checklist for any chore ("water bottles full, no mess") and the AI checks for exactly that — or set it stricter, gentler, or off per mission.
• Real Rewards — turn chores into real allowance. Chore Unlock tracks each child's weekly earnings in a receipt-style ledger; you send the money your way, like Apple Cash, with one tap (Premium).
• One clean dashboard — every child, streak, XP and reward in a single view.
• Levels, XP & streaks — chores feel like a game kids want to win, not a punishment.
• Make a Deal — your child pitches an extra chore for XP and you haggle (up to three offers) until you agree. Kids learn to negotiate and value the work around the house.
• Daily & family challenges — one shared goal the whole family can win together.
• Bonus offers & wish-list rewards — reward great days, and let kids save XP toward rewards you set.
• Made their own — each child gets their own.
• Co-parenting — invite your spouse or second parent to share the same family.
• Your values, your rules — build habits beyond chores: reading, instrument practice, even prayers. Every routine is fully customizable (optional faith-based presets included).
FREE & PREMIUM
Chore Unlock is free with one child and the full core experience. Premium unlocks unlimited children, Earn-screen-time-with-XP, Expensive Apps, Real Rewards, Deals, bonus offers, wish-list rewards and co-parent invites. 7-day free trial, then $8.99/month or $89.99/year.
Less screen-time nagging. More done. Habits that stick.

What's new in 1.1: Expensive Apps, AI photo checklists, per-mission AI control, Real Rewards allowance ledger, and smoother Screen Time setup.
Thanks for trying Chore Unlock — if it's helping your family, a quick review means the world.
We were stuck in the same cycle every day — constant reminders about chores, then arguing about the iPad or phone. ChoreUnlock flipped it.You set the chores (or just talk to the voice assistant Mak and it creates them), the kids take a photo as proof, and the AI checks it so there’s no more “I did it, I promise.” Their apps stay locked until the work is actually done, then unlock on their own. It uses Apple’s Screen Time, so it actually works. My kids now treat screen time like something they earn instead of something they’re owed. The real-rewards feature is great too — they watch their weekly allowance add up and we can pay them with one tap. We’ve even started using the reading missions with the free classic books; they read a chapter out loud and the app verifies it.Less nagging, fewer arguments, and the kids are actually building better habits. If you’re a parent who’s tired of being the screen-time police, this is worth trying.
Amazing app

I used this with my 2 kids and it leaves me free to do other things instead of making sure they are not on their iPads. I wish I found this sooner. The rewards features work seamlessly. I can't say enough good things about it.
Fantastic

Great app. Gets the kids motivated, even to read a book. 👍🏻
Reading in ChoreUnlock now looks and feels like a real book. Chapters open with a proper heading, the text is set in a classic book typeface, and your child turns pages by swiping, just like an e-reader. Text size is adjustable, and the app remembers each child's setting.
The original illustrations are back in the books. Over a thousand pieces of art from the original printings now appear right where they did on the page — Beatrix Potter's watercolors in The Tale of Peter Rabbit, the color plates in The Velveteen Rabbit, the classic drawings in Winnie-the-Pooh, Tom Sawyer, Treasure Island, the Oz books and more. Some books now wear their original covers on the shelf, too.
Kids can highlight. Press and hold any sentence to mark it with a yellow highlighter, and the marks are saved for every re-read. You can see your child's highlighted lines from the Library — a small window into what stuck with them.
Finishing a chapter now means understanding it. After reading a passage out loud for Mak, your child answers four quick questions about the chapter. Three right passes. Miss it, and they're sent back to the book — and the retry comes with brand-new questions, so the only way through is actually knowing the story. The score shows on your approval card. Mak also listens for the whole passage now, start to finish.
And when one chapter isn't enough: once the day's reading is approved, your child can keep reading bonus chapters for extra XP. You set how many per day and what each one is worth, right on the book.
