Fifty-nine new invitation designs, each with its own moment: a lid that lifts, a mobile that turns, lace that parts, tiles that lay themselves, a locket that opens on a photo. Pick the type of event, then a design and its colours; the card plays on the reply page and is the picture in the message preview. Three colourways each, all free. Creating an event now runs Type → Design → Details → Who’s invited → Send. Also: Mela emails invitations and shows who opened them, emails updates to guests, and sends one automatic reminder.

Send the invitation you designed. Upload a card you made or bought — Etsy, Canva, anywhere — and it is shown whole, exactly as you made it, with the reply form beneath. Or add a short video or a GIF: it plays on the invitation, muted, and the first frame is the picture in the message preview. Mela now emails the invitation for you: each guest gets their own link, and you see who opened it. When the date, time or place changes, everyone who replied hears about it. Guests who haven't answered get one reminder a few days before — on by default, off in Edit event. Three new designs for kids' parties: Confetti, Safari and Rocket. Also: adding a contact no longer requires a birthday.

We're Mela now — same app, simpler name, new icon. And a calmer app to run things from. Home • Opens on your next gathering: who's going, who hasn't replied, one tap to remind them. • "Needs your attention" gathers what's waiting on you — unanswered invitations, unclaimed dishes, payments to confirm, open volunteer spots, people asking to join. • Nothing planned? Home shows the next birthdays, your country's holidays and your next class instead of a blank. Classes and seasons • Tap any class to see who's coming, who hasn't answered, who has paid — and tick them off there. Every tick can be undone. • "Mark paid…" covers the next 1, 4 or 8 classes, or the rest of the season, when a family pays up front. • Students see "Pay for this class" (or for the season), open Venmo straight to the payee, copy the details, and tell you "I've paid". If Venmo doesn't open, the app says so. UPI IDs and bank details are shown to copy. Communities and events • Every community opens on an Overview: what needs you, the next event, the pinned notice, your programs. • The event page leads with one action — share the invitation — and three plain numbers. • If a repeating event only partly saves, you see which dates didn't and can retry them. A photo that fails to upload is offered again, not lost. Also fixed: photos save again for people, groups and profiles; receipts are private to the submitter and admins; marking a future class paid no longer shows the student as "Missed".

For the people who run things. • Tapping a community link now joins you every time — even on a fresh launch. If you'd been tapping and nothing happened, that was us. • Programs can take payment: add your Venmo, members pay in a tap and tell you, and you confirm. They're told the moment you do. • Organizers see it at a glance: how many signed up, how many have paid, how much is in. • Duplicate a program — same class, new location, without retyping it. • Class locations are real places now: pick from suggestions, see the map, open Apple or Google Maps. • Communities can show their website. • Set a term and every class becomes a session: members say if they're coming, you take attendance, and a thin class moves with one tap — everyone enrolled is told. • Per-class fees are ticked off class by class; members see what they attended and paid. • New community types: Club / Team / Academy and School / PTA, each with the right tabs from day one. • Remind everyone who hasn't paid with one tap — once a day, only the people still owing.

Small things that were quietly getting in the way. • Importing contacts no longer creates two of someone. If two people in your phone share a number — a couple on one landline, or a name saved twice — you get one person, not a duplicate. • Duplicate an event. Same invitation, new date, whoever you like: set it up once and send it again. • Card links are short now, so a birthday card arrives as a tidy link instead of half a screen of text. • And when something does go wrong, it says so instead of quietly showing you an empty screen.

For anyone with a big address book. • Importing contacts is far faster, and no longer stalls or closes the app partway through. • A long contact list loads again — several hundred names used to stop the People tab entirely. • Creating an event no longer fails while your account is still finishing setup. • Recommending a vendor now takes their email, so your community can invite them properly.

Quiet repairs this time. • Clearing the "Invite name" on an invitation saves properly again. • Interrupting something no longer looks like an error — cancelling isn't failing. • Community vendor listings now appear in every kind of community, and featured ones say so plainly. • Steadier saving and loading across the app.
