Platine is a Sonos remote built for Apple Music.
No AirPlay, no re-encoding. Platine tells the speaker what to play; the speaker fetches the track itself, straight from Apple. You can put your device away — the music keeps playing.

■ Your speakers, your groups
Every speaker in the home is found on the local network. Volume, mute, equalizer, groups — it is all here, including the battery level of portable models.
■ Listening history
What you played, when, and on which speaker. Synced through iCloud across your devices, with no account to create.
■ Sonos favorites
Your existing favorites appear as they are, and a single star adds one from the player.
■ Sleep timer
The speaker's own sleep timer, two taps away instead of buried in a menu.
■ Radio
Live radio stations — France Inter, FIP, RTL… They play straight on the speaker, without going through Apple Music.
■ On iPhone and iPad
A permanent mini player, a full-screen player, and a Home Screen widget showing what is playing. On iPad, the layout takes the room the screen gives it.
■ Control Centre and Siri
Add the "Play / Pause" and "Play a favourite" buttons to Control Centre: the speaker responds without opening the app. Siri can do it too — "Play on Platine".
■ On Apple Watch as well
Playback, volume and next track from your wrist, without taking out your iPhone.
An active Apple Music subscription is required. Apple Music must already be linked to your system in the official Sonos app.

Tracks the speaker refuses are no longer refused in silence. Platine spots songs that are not in the Apple Music catalog — a file from your own library, for instance — leaves them out and tells you which ones, instead of an "error 800" that taught you nothing.
The next and previous arrows finally work properly. They respond to the touch, the track changes straight away instead of waiting for the speaker, and the display no longer jumps backwards when you tap several times.
Going back no longer returns to the start. Open a playlist, play a track, go back: you land on the playlist, not on the home screen.
The volume is shown as a percentage, and the slider no longer jumps under your finger.
A track started in the middle of an album or a playlist now carries on with the rest.
The home screen is yours to organise: choose the order of the sections and hide the ones you do not use.
With no speaker in reach, the app is no longer stuck: the search can be interrupted and your choice is remembered.
Platine speaks four more languages — Japanese, Dutch, Korean and Traditional Chinese. Error messages, which had stayed in French until now, are translated too.
The home screen loads faster, and a rare crash in the queue has been fixed.
