DiskSweep finds what is filling your Mac and tells you exactly what each item is before anything is removed.
Most cleanup apps hand you a big button and a progress bar, then leave you hoping. DiskSweep does the opposite. Every item it finds carries a plain-language explanation, its size, its safety label, and the exact action that will be taken — trash or delete, and the precise path. Nothing personal is ever ticked for you.

SORTED BY WHAT IT IS, NOT WHERE IT LIVES
Results are filed into Large Files, Images, Videos, Installers & Archives, Old Downloads and Other Files, with caches, dependencies, Xcode, Simulators, containers and render files added by profile. Pick a category, see its total, review its contents.
BUILT TO BE CAUTIOUS
• Personal files are never bulk-selected — the app says so on screen
• Every item explains what it is, where it is, and what removing it costs you
• Move to Trash is offered first; permanent deletion is a separate, explicit choice
• Risky developer and cache items are off by default and carry a rebuild warning
• Docker disks, VM bundles, project libraries and original media are analysis-only
• iCloud-only files are left alone rather than offered for deletion
• Emptying Trash is a deliberate, separate action with its own confirmation
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
DiskSweep runs entirely on your Mac. No analytics, no accounts, no cloud service, no AI service, nothing uploaded. It is sandboxed and reads only Downloads plus the folders you explicitly grant, and you can review or revoke any grant at any time from Folder Access.
