A latent image is what a frame of film holds after exposure, before development — a picture that already exists, but can't yet be seen. The photograph is born the moment you press the shutter; it just hasn't appeared.
Latent keeps that latent image for every shot you take: the full RAW negative. Any photo can return to that moment — load a different film stock, rebalance the exposure, and develop it again.

- Every shot keeps a clean untouched original plus the DNG; the film look is just a layer on top
- Swap presets, tweak settings, fix exposure, rotate and crop any time after shooting
- All non-destructive — you can revert to the original right in the Photos app
- Import old photos from your library and give them a preset too

- Rendering pipeline rebuilt:
- RAW-first develop — film recipes grade the DNG develop directly, instead of stacking on the in-camera HEIC
- HDR is now encoded as Adaptive HDR (gain map), the graded SDR re-lit by the camera's own gain field — viewfinder, editor and library finally agree
- End-to-end Display P3 color management; LUTs sample in their declared color space
- Starburst and Black Mist now keep HDR — rays and halation light up with their sources
- Fixed LUT colors rendering incorrectly in some cases
- Fixed HDR displaying incorrectly in certain situations
- New shooting tools: level, focus peaking, zebra stripes and grid (swipe up on the viewfinder)
