Share your find: rate a spot 8.0 or higher and Spots offers to share it right away — with a link that takes your friends straight to your tip. Sharing your list now lives right in the header. And Spots Pro is now called Spots Premium.

Getting started is now free: five spots, three of them via Instagram import — so you instantly see how Spots fills in the address, opening hours and photos by itself. Also new: a short guide that shows step by step how to share a profile straight from Instagram. You'll find it on your empty list and under Settings.

Setting a score now goes to the decimal. Drag the slider or tap plus or minus and you move in steps of 0.1 — an 8.7 is finally possible, in the app and on the site. Half points were never enough for a place you liked just a little bit more. Share something from Instagram and the window now asks what you mean right away: on my wishlist or already tasted. Pick the second and you give your score there and then. Before, everything landed on your wishlist and you sorted it out later. The biggest difference is one you notice because nothing goes wrong anymore when you import. A city in an Instagram handle now counts — osteria_bianca_amsterdam no longer lands in Buenos Aires. If the address we find doesn't match what we know, the location stays empty with a word of explanation, instead of a wrong street ending up on your entry. And if a place has several branches, Spots asks which one you mean. And you now see the full street address on an entry, not just the city.

Spots now gives you a heads-up. Turn on notifications and you'll know when a new top spot — rated 8.5 or higher — pops up near you, plus a roundup of your week. A notification never carries a name: only the venue, the city and the score. Both are separate switches in Profile. Also new: you can choose to show your community recommendations under a name of your own. Sharing stays anonymous by default — change nothing and nothing changes. Plus: pins that stay readable on any map background, the version number at the bottom of Profile, and sharper cuisine and venue types when importing.

Spots now speaks your language: fully available in English, Dutch, French, German and Spanish. New: discover top-rated spots anonymously shared by other Spots users right in your showcase — and add them to your Wishlist with one tap. Plus smarter search in every language and many small improvements.
