A day is a vessel.
No matter how long your list gets, the day doesn't grow. utsuwa measures tasks in time and places them into a single day that only holds so much. What doesn't fit, doesn't fit — and you see that before the day begins.
■ Placed in time, not in a list
The day is six bands: early morning, morning, midday, afternoon, evening, night. Each one holds a set number of minutes. Place a task and you watch the room left in that band go down. Bands that have passed can no longer take anything.
■ Estimates you don't have to make
Write down a task and it arrives with a time on it. The longer you use utsuwa, the closer those numbers move toward how long things actually take you.
■ What didn't fit is not a failure
Unfinished tasks move to review. utsuwa never counts them at you or urges you on. When something has been carried forward again and again, that's where you can decide to let it go.
■ Days end
When the day's vessel is empty, a screen made for that moment appears. Nothing left over is shown. An ending is the reward.
■ Repeats and quiet reminders
Daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly — including the second Tuesday, or the last weekday of the month. Tasks with a set time tell you at that time. In the morning, utsuwa says only: time to place today. It never counts.
■ Phone and computer
The phone is for doing. The web is for planning and looking back. Sign in on both and anything you place shows up on the other right away.
