Fortschrittchen

Your training log for the gym

$2.99 · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.

Fortschrittchen is a training log. It remembers what you did on every machine — weight, reps, sets — and suggests the smallest possible increase next time. Nothing more. And that is on purpose. WHAT IT DOES Your machines stand in the order you walk through the gym. Before every set, one single question: how was last time? Went well, was demanding, was hard. The next value follows from that — a little more weight, one more rep, or exactly the same again. There is a break timer between sets that you can set per machine. It keeps running on the lock screen, where the next set can be logged without opening the app. On your wrist you log with the Apple Watch, even with no iPhone in range. The lock screen widget shows which machine is still open today. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No workout plans. No calories, no scale, no nutrition. No leaderboards, no friends, no likes. No streak counters — a break is not a failure, and it is not even shown in red here. No ads, no subscription, no account. YOUR NUMBERS STAY YOURS Fortschrittchen collects nothing about you. There is no server. Your data lives on your device and, if you want, in your private iCloud — where we cannot reach it. Everything can be exported as CSV at any time. THE STAIRCASE Every time you manage more than last time, a step is added. It never gets smaller. Even after three months away it is still standing where you left it. Built for people who are starting out. Anyone who has trained for ten years has a system already. Anyone who is new needs only one thing: to write down what happened — and to do a little more next time. Fortschrittchen is a training diary, not health advice.

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

New: a training calendar as a fourth tab — a month view with coloured dots for what actually happened. Five kinds are built in and you can add your own; strength and cardio fill themselves in. An empty day stays empty: no counter, no quota, no best week. Plus a home screen widget showing your staircase, the next machine and today's dots. Sets can now be deleted and corrected, and the app recalculates afterwards — a mistyped personal best no longer blocks progress for good. Machines and exercises can be renamed, photos swapped, icons and pictures chosen. The machine list now shows drawings of the machines instead of generic symbols. And the app icon can take on your chosen colour.
