What's New in Version 1.0.4 New: Sun & Moon Compass. A live compass showing where the sun and moon are right now and how far to turn to face them. It also shows the moon's current phase, a countdown to the next change in light, and the whole day's sun and moon paths on one chart. Open it from Today's Light on any note. New: Log a sighting without a photo. Heard a call or spotted something you couldn't photograph? Record it with a location, a subject and a note. Sightings appear alongside your reference photos and on the Globe. Sightings can be renamed and re-tagged after logging, and now scroll as a row of cards. Deleted sightings can be recovered. They now go to Recently Deleted for 30 days, like notes and photos. Fixed: a sighting logged before your location was found could end up without coordinates. Fixed: logging two sightings in quick succession could cause one to lose its location. Fixed: a photo taken while the location permission prompt was still showing could be saved without coordinates. Sighting counts now show on map pins and in note lists, even for notes with no photos. Expiry warnings in Recently Deleted are easier to read, and the app starts faster with large libraries.

What's New in Version 1.0.3 New Australian bush colour theme — dark mode moves from plain black to warm tones matching the app icon. Today's Light, redesigned — a simple sun-path graphic shows your day at a glance, plus sunrise/sunset direction and day length. Fixed: notes with more than one revisit reminder now show all of them, not just the first. Fixed: Today's Light now uses the correct time zone for the note's location, not your device's. Fixed: importing a shared note now tells you if a reminder couldn't be scheduled, instead of failing silently.

A much better camera in the field. - Pinch to zoom now uses your phone's telephoto lens rather than just cropping the image, so a bird at distance stays sharp. The current zoom level is shown while you pinch. - A torch toggle, for fungi under logs and bark detail before sunrise. - Tap to focus now shows a focus square, so you can see it registered. - Drag up or down after tapping to adjust exposure. Backlit subjects against a bright sky no longer come out underexposed. - Adjusting a site's position on the map now opens on the site itself rather than a zoomed-out view of the country. - Added Import note under Data, so a shared .recnote file can be opened from inside the app rather than hunting for it in Files. - Removed the reminder bell from the camera. Reminders are set from the note itself, where you can see whether they're on. Everything stays on your device. No account, no cloud, no tracking.

Scouted the same spot twice? Notes recorded close together now group into one marker — tap it to see them all and pick the one you want. Selecting a note drops its photos onto the map so you can see exactly where each subject was photographed. Also: your current position no longer covers the marker count, the map opens framed on your notes rather than the whole continent, and markers show how many photos each note holds. Everything stays on your device. No account, no cloud, no tracking.
