Melloop
Buy, sell and meet up locally
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Melloop is a local marketplace built for Melbourne's Chinese community. Secondhand goods, a neighbourhood board, and driving school bookings — one account for all of it.
BUY AND SELL, FACE TO FACE
Browse what's for sale near you, by suburb rather than by city. Furniture, appliances, electronics, kitchen gear, textbooks, and whole-apartment bundles when someone's moving out. Message the seller, negotiate the price in the chat, then meet up, check the item and pay in person.
We never handle your money. Melloop hosts the listings — we're not part of the deal. That's exactly why we tell you to inspect the goods and pay in person, every time.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD BOARD
Organise a mahjong night, find people for a drink, share a ride, look for a housemate, or pass on a lease or a car space. Post once; anyone interested taps to join and the spot closes itself when it's full. You can apply to open a board of your own — for your apartment building, for instance.
DRIVING SCHOOL AND MEMBER PERKS
Meloop Club handles driving lesson bookings and local merchant offers. Posting, replying and having an answer accepted all earn points, and points convert to vouchers.
WHY THIS ONE
· Search by suburb, not by city — Melbourne is big, and something 30km away isn't useful to you
· Contact details are masked by default so they can't be scraped
· Sign in with a passkey — Face ID gets you in, no waiting for a text
· Dark mode, Simplified Chinese and English, following your system
STAYING SAFE
Always inspect an item before you pay. We mask contact details to stop scraping, but we can't verify every user — if someone asks you to transfer money up front or pushes you to pay online, be careful and report them to us.

more Two accounts on one phone
Settings now has Switch account. Every account you add stays on the phone. One tap moves you across, with no signing out and no code to wait for.
The two accounts keep their own things: messages, saved items, shopping cart, and half-written drafts. Switch back and they are all still there.
When you pay and there is more than one account on the phone, the line under the pay button says which account is paying, so a shop account and a personal one do not get mixed up.
Adding a new account still means signing in once, and that account gets a new-device alert. That one is expected.

Fuel discount code
There's a fuel discount code in member benefits now. Check in enough days in a row and you can open it once. Platform members can open it any time.
Open the page and the barcode and the numbers are both there — the servo scans it at the counter. Which servo and which stores take it is written above the code, so you don't find out at checkout.
The page turns your screen up on its own, so it still scans in daylight. On Android the page blocks screenshots and screen recording.
Also: your friends can now pay a shop's payment code without having Mel Loop installed — just the phone camera. If you do have it, you still pay in the app, and the payment goes on your own account.
City names now follow the app's language.
1.12.1 1d ago
Built for iOS 27 and the iPhone 18 lineup
Tap a notification after the app was swiped away and it opens that message.
Follow a link in and Safari no longer opens the web version again right after.
On iPad, when you work side by side with another app, tapping the other half no longer stops your chats from updating.
Your icon follows the dark and tinted home screen looks.
When a shop owner shares their shop link, people with the app go straight to the app.
Photos and videos in your message list no longer show up as a file path.
Confirmations for withdrawals and payout changes come through even with Sleep or a Focus on. That confirmation is only valid for two minutes.

Order from shops, and see who's signed in
See something you like at a shop? Order it right on the shop page and pay online. Pick it up or have it delivered.
Everything from one shop in one order: put eight things in the cart, one order, one payment. If something is gone, you'll be told first, and you can change the cart or just order the rest.
For pickup, choose a time (one-hour slots within opening hours). Your order shows where to go, when, and the shop's phone number. Show your pickup code and the staff scan it. Done.
For delivery, just type an address. Your name and mobile are filled in from your account. Tap Confirm received when it arrives. Type your postcode first and you'll see straight away whether the shop delivers there and what it costs.
Account security now lists your signed-in devices: what they are, which country they're in, and when they signed in. A device coming from somewhere different from the rest is marked, and you can sign the others out in one go.
Chats, wallet, ID documents and check-in codes no longer stay in the app switcher when you leave the app. SMS codes now appear above the keyboard, one tap to fill.

Copied a shop link from another app? Switch back and we'll ask if you want to open it.

Foldable support, and landscape that actually works.
On a wide screen — unfolded, or just held sideways — content no longer stretches from edge to edge. A line of text used to run so long that your eye lost its place jumping back to the start. It's back to a readable length.
In landscape, the back button is no longer hidden under the Dynamic Island. It was visible but not tappable, and so were Leave chat and Report.
Rotating while you're on Messages used to reload the whole tab and throw you back to the top, while Browse and Community stayed put. Not any more — same for Profile.
On an item page, the clock and battery in the status bar could disappear entirely (white on white) as you scrolled. Fixed.
Rotating halfway through cropping an avatar could upload the middle of the photo instead of the part you framed, with nothing to tell you. Now the crop resets so you can frame it again.
Rotating during a chat used to drop you several screens back, with new messages out of sight below. You stay on the latest message now.
1.10.0 6d ago
This one goes through chat from top to bottom, and fixes a few things merchants do every day.
A message that failed to send used to look exactly like one that went through. You'd swipe away, come back, see it sitting there and assume it was delivered — and wait for a reply that was never coming. Now you can see it, and one tap sends it again.
If you type with a Chinese, Japanese or Korean keyboard, pressing Enter to pick a candidate used to send the raw romanisation instead.
Tapping the input box to reply to the last message pushed that message off screen behind the keyboard. It follows along now.
Coming back from the background could take six seconds to show what the other person said. It's immediate now. Search results inside a conversation jump to the message too.
Re-sending a photo on a slow connection no longer leaves two of them.
There's an emoji button to the left of the input box, with a few hundred to pick from.
After you block someone, their conversation no longer sits in your message list — and you can finally unblock from Settings.
For merchants: payment codes are on the dashboard home now instead of buried in your wallet; price changes, delisting and bumping no longer send you to the website; the payouts page no longer signs you out; you can handle a customer who didn't show up; and changing your opening hours tells you who'll turn up to a closed door.

This version reworks the drinking games screens.
Text is a size larger throughout, with none of the small grey lines you had to lean in for. The dare you draw is now the largest line on the page, readable from across the table.
Games with long rules start collapsed, so the round and dare buttons stay on the first screen. A two thousand character write-up used to push them two screens down, and those buttons get pressed dozens of times a night.
You can step back to the previous round. "Wait, what was the last one" is the most common thing said at the table, and until now the only way back was starting over.
A submission you were halfway through survives leaving the app.
Games that have been taken down no longer linger on your phone.
1.9.7 Sep 8
This version adds drinking games to the Fun section.
Every game has a number. When someone at the table calls out "let's play 37", type 37 in the search box and you land on it. No spelling out names.
Games that run in rounds, like Finger Grab, list each round separately so you tap through them one at a time. The screen keeps showing which round you are on, so nobody has to remember it while holding a drink.
The dare pool works either way: draw one at random, or read the whole list and pick. Those dares came from people at a table, so you can add your own, either a whole new game or one more dare on a game that already exists.
Found a good one? Send it to your group chat. The link opens for anyone, with or without the app.
Games you have opened are kept on your phone. Signal in a bar is usually one bar or none, and they still open and read fine. New ones fill themselves in when you are back online.
1.9.6 Sep 6
This release reworks how you add and change your mobile number and email address.
You confirm it's you first, then enter the new number or email. It used to run the other way round. You'd fill everything in and go through a code, and only then be told you still had to prove it was you. That first round was wasted.
Verification has moved out of a pop-up that covered half the screen and onto a full page, so you won't end up with two codes and two verification screens open at once. When you add an email address for the first time, the heading no longer says "change your email".
The page now tells you where the code was sent, showing only the last few digits of the number, or part of the email address. Most people changing a number are doing it because the old one has stopped receiving anything.
If nothing comes through, switch to the other method there and then, from text to email or from email to text. The countdown before you can resend now matches the real wait. It used to say 45 seconds every time, and anyone following that countdown burned through an hour's worth of sends in a few minutes.
Approving a sign-in, along with some other sensitive actions, now asks for your face or fingerprint first, the same check your phone uses to unlock. If your phone is sitting unlocked on a desk, nobody else can approve anything for you.
1.9.5 Sep 5
The last release translated the interface into six languages. This one translates what the server sends you.
Error messages, your notification centre and push notifications used to come back in Chinese. They now follow your language. Notifications render in whatever language you are using now, so switching later re-renders the old ones too.
The wallet's transaction list was showing nothing. Fixed.
Settings → Security now has Sign out other devices. Before, an unusual-sign-in alert could only be acted on from the website.
Shop cards in search results used to show an internal English tag instead of the trade name.
1.9.4 Sep 3
Korean, Vietnamese and Japanese are now in. With Simplified, Traditional and English that makes six, under Settings → Display → Language.
Error messages used to come back in Chinese no matter what language you were using. They now follow your language.
So do the category chips on the home screen, the condition options when you post, and shop trade names.
The wallet's transaction list was showing nothing. Fixed.
The label on ad cards was hard-coded in Chinese. It follows your language now too.
1.9.3 Sep 2
The wallet now asks for Face ID or a fingerprint. It starts on its own when you open it, and you go straight in.
Fixed a crash: turning on Face ID / fingerprint in Settings would blank the whole app.
Settings now has Data. You can see how much space chat photos, listing images and chat history each take, and clear them. Clearing does not delete your chats.
If you use two accounts on one phone, switching no longer re-downloads your chat history and photos.
Posts now show the author's avatar and a name you can actually read.

Moving money now takes one more check: withdrawals and payout account
changes go through your pay PIN or Face ID. Someone with your account
still can't move your money.
· Private sellers with payouts set up can be bought from directly
· Agreed offers can be paid online, at the agreed price
· Orders have Confirm receipt
· Changing your phone or email is one step — quit halfway and the old
one is still there
· Wallet is one page; withdraw yourself once payouts are set up
· Notifications clear in one tap
1.9.1 Sep 1
Money moves now need a second check. Withdrawing, or changing where your
money goes, asks for your pay password, Face ID / fingerprint, or a tap on
your phone — so someone with your account still can't move your money.
Set it up under Me → Account & money security. The pay password works
everywhere; Face ID is per device.
· Verified private sellers can now sell online: listings show both
"Chat" and "Buy", the item delists itself on purchase, and the seller
is notified
· Once you agree on a price, you can pay online at that price
· What you type when you make an offer is what you'll be charged — the
panel used to show a different number from the final one
· Orders now have a "Confirm received" button
· Links from WeChat or a browser now open the actual listing or post
· The hold shown on a booking now matches what's held on your card
· No more Chinese text in the English "Confirm received" flow
· When a listing goes to manual review, we tell you why instead of just
saying "Posted"
· When you quote a customer, you can see what they'll be charged
· "Deposit not held" no longer shows as "Held"
· If you turn on time-slot booking without opening hours, we tell you —
customers see no slots at all in that state
· The "Open to offers" tag no longer appears on items that can't take offers
Tablet: five more screens keep their text to a readable width.

Community has a new section: Bounties — post a task and what it's worth.
· Bounties are live: parcel pickups, moving something, queueing, airport runs
· You choose how the money works: cash in person, or held until you confirm
· You can see what a person is verified as before you pick them
· Shop quotes show up and you can pay in the app; if a shop can't take online
payments yet, it says so up front instead of letting you tap Pay for nothing
· Left the checkout halfway? Go back and pay, or drop it. Once paid you get a
code for the shop to scan
· Long-press a message: copy, quote, unsend, delete, report
· Unsend within two minutes (gone for both); delete only removes it on your side
· See when they've read your message
· Order details: the title is the status, and underneath it says what happens
next. Order number, payment number, how it was paid, and the times are all
there — long-press a number to copy it
· Support is always in the bottom bar of an order, and it carries the order
across so you don't have to describe it again
· My orders, bookings and bounties are all under Me; My bounties splits into
posted by me and ones I'm doing
· Chat history is no longer capped — search it, quote a message
· Posting a listing is half as long; new accounts get walked through setup
· Every list is endless scroll; check for updates from About
· On tablets and unfolded foldables the navigation moves to the left
· When you quote, add an amount so they can pay right away
· You're notified when a customer pays
· Declining a booking a customer already paid for refunds them automatically
· Set how you get paid when creating a service on your phone
· Taking payment at the counter tells you when the amount is wrong

1.7.0 Aug 26
Chat history goes all the way back now, and you can search it and quote it.
· Chat history is no longer capped — scroll up and you'll reach the first message
· Search a conversation: type a word, jump straight to it, context intact
· Quote a message when you reply, so the other person knows what you mean
· Meetups actually come together now: once you join, the organiser can see your
WeChat ID and add you to the group (only that organiser — never your profile,
never search, nobody else; and joining works fine without one)
· Edit or delete your own posts, and reopen one you closed
· Every list is endless scroll now — no more "next page"
· Sydney is live: the app notices which city you're in and offers to switch
· Six accent colours under Settings → Accent colour; Black & Gold is for members
· Simplified, Traditional and English — switch any time, or follow your system
· You can now post inside your building: text, photos and links, neighbours only
· Links in building posts open with one tap, and you see where they go first
· For pay-online services, the button now states exactly what you'll pay next
· Pick your suburb from a list when posting, so distances work properly
· Photos now scale smoothly into the item page
· The launch animation now fades into the home screen
· Board names at the top of Community are no longer clipped
· Pull to refresh, or come back from a post, and you stay where you were
· My Bookings is fully translated
· The sign-in page no longer overflows at large text sizes
· Take or pick photos when managing product images in the app (Android)
· Payouts, banking and opening hours are fully translated
1.6.0 Aug 26
· You can now send videos in chat
· You can leave your name when contacting a shop or making a booking, so
they know who to ask for when they call
· Booking pages now state how far ahead you can cancel free of charge
· More reliable sign-in, notification links and page rendering
· Take payment at the counter: start a card payment while the customer is
with you and simply enter the amount you want to receive
(requires payments to be set up in your shop console first)
· Check customers in by scanning their arrival code — owners, managers and
staff can all do this
· Switch between shops in the console if you run more than one
· New bookings, cancellation requests and unfinished payment setup are now
flagged where you'd look for them
· Approve or decline cancellation requests directly from Bookings
1.4.9 Aug 24
· Chats will no longer display two identical messages
When a message times out but has actually been delivered, the screen would previously show a red ‘Failed’ message alongside the normal one;
tapping ‘Resend’ would then create two messages. The system will now automatically recognise that they are the same message and merge them.
· Merchants: Switch seamlessly between multiple shops managed by a single user
A ‘Switch Shop’ option has been added at the top of the dashboard. Shops currently under review will also be listed and marked as such.
· Merchants: More accurate to-do reminders
When someone requests to cancel a booking or when payment activation is one step away from completion, a notification dot will appear in the corresponding location.
Routine pending tasks will still only display a number—a red dot that appears every day is effectively the same as no red dot at all.
· My Bookings: Bookings requiring your confirmation are displayed at the top
When a merchant initiates a payment at the counter, that booking will no longer be buried at the bottom of the list.
· You’ll be clearly informed when the server is updating
When you open the app, a message will explain that an update is in progress, how long it is expected to take, and that ‘submitted bookings and payments will not be affected’.
· Account: You can link an additional mobile number or email address
If you registered with an email address, you can link a mobile number as well, and vice versa; this ensures you won’t be locked out when switching devices.
Settings → Account & Security → Login Methods.
· Fixed: Notification badges were not updating on some Android devices

instead of the owner's personal profile
· Messages can be filtered by identity: All / Personal / one tab per shop
· Choose whether to post a listing as yourself or as your shop
· Staff can now handle the shop's customer messages, with each reply labelled

· Tap a shop's service to see its details
· A banner explains when the server is updating, so slowness isn't a mystery
Improved
· Failed messages are clearly marked and can be resent with one tap

· Invalid offer amounts show an inline error instead of doing nothing
· Other orders grey out while one is being processed

· Conversations without a listing no longer show as "Free"
· A zero balance no longer displays as "Free"
· Pull-to-refresh works on more screens on Android
· Search no longer gets stuck showing "Loading" after paging

· Several missing English translations
1.4.5 Aug 20
This release fills in everything that was on the website but missing in the app:
· Membership, balance history, your ad campaigns, announcements, support tickets and feedback are all native screens now — no more embedded web pages · Your balance shows every transaction: when, why, and what was left after · Notification settings finally exist. Pick what you hear about and how. If notifications are switched off at the system level, the page says so and takes you straight there · Points rewards, building groups and driving lesson bookings are native too · Events can have prizes now — draws, vouchers, membership, physical items. How the draw was run is public: the winners and the random seed are both on the event page, so you can check it yourself · Tapping a notification always goes somewhere now
1.4.4 Aug 20
What's new
Threaded replies in the forum
Replies now sit under the comment they answer, collapsed by default —
tap "show N replies" to expand. Avatars, names and verification badges
appear on every post and reply.
My Building (new)
If you live in an apartment tower, join your building's own board:
parking spaces, building management, group buys. Posts inside a building
are visible only to neighbours in that building — they never appear in
the community feed or search, and search engines can't reach them.
Joining is confirmed by us manually.
Local Services (new)
Chinese-speaking businesses around Melbourne: nail salons, removalists,
mahjong rooms, driving instructors and more. Prices and what they offer
are listed on each shop page, so you can book directly instead of adding
five people on WeChat first. For jobs that need a look first — like
removals — you can book an on-site quote.
Fixes
· Student verification now accepts non-Australian university email
(.edu, .edu.cn, .ac.uk and similar)
· Fixed the "send code" button not responding on some Android devices
· Suburbs expanded to 133, adding Bulleen, Mount Waverley, Tarneit,
Bundoora and more
· University list expanded to 25, adding La Trobe, Swinburne,
Victoria University, ACU and more
1.2.1 Aug 17
Two accounts on one phone
Settings now has Switch account. Every account you add stays on the phone. One tap moves you across, with no signing out and no code to wait for.
The two accounts keep their own things: messages, saved items, shopping cart, and half-written drafts. Switch back and they are all still there.
When you pay and there is more than one account on the phone, the line under the pay button says which account is paying, so a shop account and a personal one do not get mixed up.
Adding a new account still means signing in once, and that account gets a new-device alert. That one is expected.
