Tip for players having trouble with the ladder in the library: You need to use the lighter to first light up the candles on the upper right-side balcony. Then keep your finger pressed as you drag the light around to find the other candles, and click to light up all the candles on both sides of the scene. When all the candles are lit up, you should be able to tap on the ladder to move it to and from both sides of the library and interact with the tasks on the upper sides of the balcony. I hope this helps. What a catchy game this is, one that combines an immersive murder-mystery plot with the fascinating historical architecture, art, and science of the Renaissance Period of Florence, Italy. You play as a prominent detective who is summoned to investigate the suspicious deaths of two historians who each played a role in a Da Vinci-related discovery. You traverse the streets of early twentieth-century Florence while taking in the city’s magnificent sights and culture, as well as dodging a mysterious villain in pursuit of you. The storyline fluidly progresses through picking up plenty of scattered articles of information. You use your investigative skills by observing and finding items and clues around the crime scenes, sometimes in the form of hidden object scenes; then you tie together collected clues and evidence through deductive reasoning to draw upon your conclusions. The puzzles are diverse and entertaining; most are action-driven to solve a current predicament. As always, transition is seamless, and the mechanics are free of glitches. This is my favorite genre to play, and it did not disappoint me. Grazie!

Attention, gamers! There is NO fatal error in the game! Both myself and my Director of Quality Assurance have checked out the situation in the library and everything works properly. For the two of you who had a problem: First light all of the candles. Then, in order to access the upper levels, you must alternate moving the ladder from one side of the room to the other. It was extremely simple to do. However, Friendly Fox wants everyone to have a wonderful experience and has updated the game. Giving this fabulous adventure a one-star rating was quite unfair to such a wonderful developer as Friendly Fox, who put an extreme amount of detail, thought and interactive content into this game. I would hope that the two of you revise your reviews and ratings. One takeaway is that you will learn facts about da Vinci that you never knew, so it’s a learning experience within the game. In any event, this is a game well worth playing. Once again, you play as Detective Agatha, and you must solve a dangerous mystery set in the magnificent city of Florence. Friendly Fox has managed to capture the perfect ambience in the shadows of this old-world Renaissance city. I would know as I have been there. Along the way, there is a mysterious invention created by Leonardo da Vinci. You have all heard of the Vitruvian Man, and a secretly guarded object is based on this invention. (You guys know that he created many inventions we use today, and was not just an artist.) Anyway, if I say anything else it would be a spoiler alert and I promised not to do that any longer. One thing I will say, however, is that a moral and ethical dilemma will arise. How far do you go for the sake of all mankind? Unfortunately, this dilemma is still an issue in today’s society! The game is lengthy, thrilling, innovative, interactive and fast-paced, so purchase, play and enjoy! Happy gaming, everyone!

UPDATE: I have finished the game and it was flawless as expected. Once again FF has delivered a most enjoyable experience. The storyline is exciting and I love assembling clues and the unexpected twists and turns in the hunt for the real culprit. I suggest you purchase and enjoy!Although I haven’t finished the entire game yet, I wanted to address the presumed error early in the game. The scene where one must move the ladder IS playable and it is a matter of maneuvering the light source from the right side to the ladder on the left. At that point the ladder is accessible. There is NOT a fatal error in this game. I have moved on past this scene quite easily and find the game very enjoyable although I haven’t finished yet. For those who had difficulty, please try again. I will update my review with a final score when I have completed it.

I’ll be brief, because the less you’re reading the more you’re playing and I don’t want to keep you from another “greatest hit” by this developer. Put simply: There’s very few devs now creating games like these that check every box you’re wanting checked with these HOGs and this one will not let you down. Enjoy!
