Regal Vault
Antique study and collecting
Free
Most people who love antiques learn in the same scattered way: a paragraph from a reference book, a remark overheard at a sale, a guess at a hallmark that is never confirmed. RegalVault replaces that with structured practice. It covers fifteen fields of the decorative arts and teaches each one through short interactive lessons, then makes you prove what you learned against a question bank that remembers your weak points.
Every lesson is written as a dialogue. It presents one idea, stops, and asks you to make a judgement before it goes on. A lesson on porcelain will show you two paste bodies and ask which one rings; a lesson on case furniture will show you a dovetail and ask what it says about the decade. Each one closes with a mini challenge, an observation exercise, an authenticity check and a set of summary notes you keep.
What you can study and do:
- Fifteen museum cabinets covering furniture, porcelain, silver, paintings, clocks, glass, books, sculpture, coins, militaria, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, lighting and decorative objects.
- Object files with production period, country of origin, common materials, identifying characteristics, authenticity indicators, restoration guidance, collector notes and historical background.
- A personal collection that fills wooden display cabinets as you work, recording rarity, timeline, country, period, material and preservation difficulty for every piece you catalogue.
- Museum stamps and archive pages awarded for completed lessons, plus achievement medals and artifact series to complete.
- An Academy with six training modes: a daily lesson, multiple choice quizzes, era identification, material challenges, original-or-reproduction judgements, and a twenty question collector examination.
- Automatic repetition of anything you answer incorrectly, so weak distinctions keep returning until they are mastered.
- A weekly timed challenge with its own rewards.
- A searchable archive of historical periods, furniture styles, ceramic types, wood species, metal finishes, makers marks, hallmarks, artists, manufacturers, restoration techniques, auction vocabulary and museum terminology, with timelines and cross references.
- Bookmarks and personal notes on any archive article.
- A collector dashboard showing rank, experience, museum level, daily streak, weekly progress, completed lessons, collection completion, examination accuracy, study time and a learning calendar.
- Selectable appearance themes and an adjustable typewriter reveal speed for lesson prose.
Ranks run from Visitor through Collector, Curator, Restorer and Historian to Master Curator. Each promotion is earned against the question bank rather than handed out for time spent in the application.
RegalVault asks nothing of you in return. There is no account to create, no subscription gate in front of the lessons, no advertising and no analytics. The entire corpus of lessons, archive articles and examination questions ships inside the application, so every feature works with no connection at all. Your progress record is written to your device's private storage and stays there.
