Forgot the parent code? You no longer need to delete the app to reset it. Deleting it never actually worked — the code is kept in your phone's secure storage and survives a reinstall — and the app should not have told you otherwise. Sorry for the wasted time. On a parent's own device, tap "Forgot the code?" on the parent screen. Confirm with that device's passcode or Face ID, and the old code is cleared so you can set a new one straight away. On the phone that is actually enforcing your family's screen-time limits — usually your child's — the same button explains that the code cannot be reset there and points you to Report a problem so we can help. That stops a child clearing the parent code with a passcode they already know.

Family sharing now works. Tapping a family share link used to open MoveToPlay as if it were a brand new family — no child, no banked minutes, and no way to approve anything from the other parent's phone. The invite now connects properly, whether you tap it with the app already open or installed fresh from the link. If an invite is interrupted part way through, the app picks it back up next time you open it instead of leaving you stuck, and it always asks before replacing anything. Chores are easier to set up. You can now edit a chore you have already added — change its name, its minutes, whether it needs a photo, or how often it repeats — instead of deleting it and starting again. You can type the minutes directly rather than tapping a stepper up one at a time, and a chore can now be worth up to 8 hours, so a long practice or a Saturday activity fits. Editing a chore also keeps it linked to any completion your child has already sent you for approval. Deleting and re-adding used to break that link.

This release fixes a crash. On some devices, entering your parent passcode closed the app immediately instead of opening the parent screen. If that happened to you, it happened every time, and there was no way around it. That is fixed. Two other crashes are fixed as well: one when reviewing changes after your devices had been out of sync, and one when confirming reward prices. New: Report a problem. If the app ever misbehaves, open the parent screen and tap "Report a problem". You will see exactly what would be sent — no child names, no passcode, no photos — and nothing is sent unless you send it yourself. It means we can fix the next problem in minutes instead of guessing. Nothing about how minutes are earned, spent, or synced has changed.

Two fixes to what the app tells you, both found by reviewing v1.7 after it shipped. Your child is no longer promised more screen time than a chore can actually pay. The proof screen used to show the chore's full reward even when the weekly earning limit would reduce it — sometimes to nothing — and only your own screen said so. Now your child sees the same number you do, and is told plainly when the week's limit is what's holding it back. The screen that explains the change to minutes no longer contradicts itself about what points used to buy. Nothing about how minutes are earned, spent, or synced has changed.

One currency. Points are gone. Your child earns minutes, and minutes buy everything - screen time, and any treat or trip you want to offer. You set the price of each reward in minutes. Nothing changes for your family until you review and confirm every price, and you can edit any of them first. The weekly maximum is now really the maximum. It used to be quietly capped by your child's rank, so a family set to 90 minutes a week was actually limited to 45. The number you type is now the number that applies. Chores can repeat. Set a chore to repeat daily, every other day, or as often as your child can do it, instead of once a week for everything. Approved chores now count toward the weekly maximum, which the app previously said they did not. Quiet hours can differ by day. Family sharing setup could fail with a technical error code and no way to recover. If the app lost track of which family it belongs to, "Prepare family share" refused every attempt and explained nothing. MoveToPlay now shows both versions of your family side by side and lets you choose which to keep, spelling out exactly what each choice replaces before anything happens. Two devices that drifted apart can be put back together. If you made changes on your phone while the iPad was offline, the two could disagree permanently, with nothing in the app able to fix it. You can now see what each side holds and choose which version the family keeps. Rewards you owe your child can't get lost. An approved reward could scroll out of the parent's history and take its "Mark fulfilled" button with it. Reward follow-ups now appear per child, and a reward you approved but decided not to give can be cancelled, with the minutes returned. Sync problems now say what actually went wrong - the real cause and what will fix it, instead of an internal error code or a "try again" that cannot work.

This update fixes a problem that could leave apps unlocked without you knowing. Some parents had to tap "Authorize on this child device" over and over - it would work, then hours later ask again, and apps stopped being blocked in between. The cause was ours: simply opening the Safety screen could clear your locks. It no longer does. Also in this update: - Your locks now stay in place if something goes wrong. Before, an error reading saved settings could quietly unlock the device. Now nothing is unlocked unless you turned locking off, a play session is running, or you saved an empty list. - Turning "Lock selected apps" off now stays off. It could previously switch itself back on after a restart or a sync. - If we can't confirm your locks are in place, we tell you instead of pretending everything is fine. - Play sessions that can't be enforced no longer take your child's minutes. If we can't keep the apps unlocked for the full session, the minutes go back. - After updating, a device that still needs authorizing now says so plainly, with the exact place to tap, instead of showing a Start button that cannot work. This update fixes two bugs that stopped the app doing its main job. Both came from parents telling us what they saw - thank you. Selecting a whole category now actually blocks those apps. If you ticked every app inside a folder like Entertainment, those apps were saved but never blocked, and the "apps selected" count dropped to zero as soon as you ticked the last one. Categories and websites are now blocked properly alongside individual apps, and the count tells you the truth about everything you have picked. The green Start button works. Holding it could silently do nothing: no session, no minutes spent. That is fixed. And if a session genuinely cannot start - not enough banked minutes, quiet hours, one already running - the app now tells you why instead of staying silent. "Lock selected apps" - the setting previously called "Pause selected games outside play sessions" is now named for what it does, with a plain explanation of what happens when it is on and when it is off. Throughout the app, apps are now locked or blocked; "pause" now only ever means quiet hours. Quiet hours can be set for specific days. Custom windows now have day toggles, plus one-tap Every day, Weekdays and Weekend presets. Your existing windows are unchanged. Undo an accidental clear in the app picker. Apple's picker has an "All Apps & Categories" row at the top that wipes your whole selection in one tap. If that happens, MoveToPlay now offers to restore what you had. Safari and other built-in Apple apps can be blocked, they just do not appear in Apple's list. The picker now tells you to search for them by name. New this update: - Siblings, on their own device or sharing one — MoveToPlay now supports more than one child in a family. Each child gets their own bank, quests, progression, and reward history, kept fully separate from their siblings'. A child's own device always shows their own data on the Move tab, no matter what a parent is looking at on the dashboard; the Parent dashboard gets a simple switcher to check in on any child. - A lightweight way to add a second device — no child Apple ID required — alongside Family Sharing, a parent can now generate a short pairing code from the dashboard to connect a second phone or iPad to the family without setting one up. The code is time-limited and closes itself back down automatically once it's used or expires. - See banked minutes and an active play session without opening the app — a home screen widget shows the current bank at a glance, and a Live Activity puts a running countdown on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island while a play session is underway. - Photo or note proof for chores — a parent can require a quick photo or a short note before a chore counts, right in the same template picker from 1.2. The child submits, it shows as "Waiting for parent," and you approve or reject from the dashboard. Nothing is credited until you say so. - Hold to start, and quiet hours for play — starting a play session is now a real hold-to-start gesture instead of a single tap, on iPhone and Apple Watch. Parents can also set Bedtime or School quiet-hour windows that pause new sessions from starting — banked minutes are never touched, they're just paused until the window ends. - Optional step-based earning — a new, off-by-default parent toggle lets steps convert into play minutes at a rate you set, with its own daily cap. It's on top of everything else your child already earns, never a replacement, and it never expires any differently than any other minute in the bank.
